"Stay Fresh "All on the Line" Single Review"

Take a pause from the mundane and listen to the latest from JV & TEEJ. If you are looking for new music, you just found it. Now is your chance to be the cool friend who heard it first. Enjoy.

VMG had a moment with Stay Fresh and sat down with the up and coming artist to see what’s poppin’ in New York and with the hot new single featured with the soulful Jenry David titled “All On The Line”.

1) What keeps you motivate when it comes to your music?

Always trying to improve on the last thing we did. Every time we make a beat or a write hook, we try to take it a step above where we just were. The motivation is really the challenge we lay out for ourselves.

2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?

True connoisseur of Hip-Hop in this modern day era, offering a platform that allows artist like us to have a voice and be heard. VMG is like the friend that made it big, and is going to let you feature.

3) Being that you are from New York, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?

Hip-hop is not dead. It is alive and well and thriving in NY. If there had to be a title, I would say its hip-hop or urban pop, but like many artists, our style is in a constant state of morph.

4) With your most recent music single “All On The Line” is DOPE, We Really Like It… can you give us some details on how you came up with that song?

We wanted to recognize and offer an anthem for everybody that has ever been in that moment where its time to shine and give it all you got. From the Superbowl athlete in the 4th quarter, to the guy giving his power-point presentation to his boss. Putting all your talent and work and heart into a defining moment, that’s “All on the Line”

5) Where can your fans & supporters find you online? Via Twitter, Facebook, etc.?

We like to think we are everywhere, facebook, twitter, instagram, soundcloud, and music outlets like iTunes and Spotify

6) Who are some of your influences?

We grew up listening to the greats in Hip-Hop, we all know them.

7) Any Last Remarks?

Listen and enjoy, that’s all we ask.

"Stay Fresh "Mix Tape" Single Review"

JV and Teej, bring us Stay Fresh, their collaborative project. Mix tape is their latest single from the project and it is sure to leave you impressed. The smooth, hip hop track features the duo reminiscing over not only kicking rhymes but enjoying tracks and sounds from across hip hop. The sound is similar to that of Devin the Dude or Currency and the realism is felt from the first verse throughout the entire track. The names and tracks referenced on the record are sure to bring thoughts of nostalgia to hip hop fans of all ages. Overall, the record is well produced, flows well and has masterful lyrics. Leave a comment below to let JV and Teej know what you think of Mix tape - The Fresh Committee

"Stay Fresh The JV & Teej Project: Album Review"

Real Friends — word to Kanye. JV and TEEJ have been down since the fourth grade. Together they’ve released two full-length albums, and a host of solo work; so, it’s safe to say they’re seasoned performers. Now, they’re back with their third album, Stay Fresh: The JV & TEEJ Project. Thus far, the release is creating a strong buzz in their hometown and garnering attention from local DJs/Radio Stations.

Here’re the goods; the project is eight tracks long, and is — for the most part — pretty consistent. The duo is no stranger to live performances, and that comes across throughout the project. Sonically, it has a live hip-hop/funk soundscape that would lend itself well to live instrumentation. The first single that jumped out was “Mixtape,” which was an ode to both classic hip-hop of yesteryear, and a theme song for all of the hip-hop junkie backpackers who never left home without their walkman back in the day. The second joint that held my attention was “Classic,” which had not only a dope electro beat, but a crazy female vocal/sample throughout that kept it knocking. “Trying to write a future classic,” they state in the hook, as they flatly put their ambition on the table. The album on a whole reinforces that they not only couldn’t stay away [they were on a hiatus] but that they also have a deep rooted love and passion for music that can’t be erased. Some of this is addressed on the project’s closer, “We Back.”

“The Chase,” is another joint that has a funky live vibe to it — perfect for the patio with a few beers. Although it had the second most plays on their Soundcloud, I wasn’t as big a fan of “All On The Line” — it didn’t seem to fit the overall vibe of the project. In general, though, it’s a good listen, and a good look for JV and TEEJ. Keep an eye on them, and add this to your playlist this weekend. - Above Average Hip-Hop

Bio

Friends since the 4th grade, and writing rhymes ever since, JV and TEEJ take their skills to the next level with Stay Fresh: The JV & TEEJ Project.  Thick beats and melodic tones laced with vivid rhymes and concepts take listeners on a journey.

Having taken a short hiatus from recording together, and each doing a solo project, JV and TEEJ find themselves back together to release their 3rd album as a duo.  Creating a strong buzz in their hometown and garnering attention from local DJ's and Radio Stations, Stay Fresh looks to be their best release to date.

No strangers to live performances and large crowds, they are known to captivate their audience.  Non-stop energy and crowd involvement have kept JV and TEEJ at the top of all venues in and around NY's capital region.

Their latest concept of "music on a mission" has inspired JV and TEEJ to do what they love, and give back to the community that has supported them.  That is why a portion of all musical proceeds from Stay Fresh will be donated to the Schenectady City Mission's back pack program.  A program created to help ensure that Schenectady City school kids go home on the weekends with something to eat.

Two down to earth guys looking to share their talent with anyone who listens.  Enjoy.
