Two brothers originally from Cupertino Ca. were the founding members of Suffocate The Creep. Although music was a large part of their life in their younger years, they took their first step in 1999 after moving to Fairfield Ca. and made the choice to start a band. Older brother Mike as guitarist, and younger brother Dan as drummer. After two years of struggling to find a vocalist to perfectly match their style they were introduced to their singer Alex. They spent the next three years playing shows and began developing a following. Venues would book them with metal bands or even soft rock and hip hop groups and somehow their unique style would always grab the attention of the audience.
Mikes artistic and creative personality reflects in his melodic yet at times heavy and funky guitar riffs. Influenced by bands such as “tool”, “incubus”, “a perfect circle”, and “system of a down”, his wide range of music styles show in his songwriting ability.
Younger brother Daniel’s true passion for music is shown when his normally timid personality disappears the second he sits behind his drum-set. His electric stage presence mixed with his talent and determination leaves the audience craving for more. “incubus’, “godsmack”, “mudvayne”, and “metalica”, are his biggest influences.
Vocalist alex’s influences such as “mr bungle”, “nuclear rabbit”, “taproot”, “deftones”, and “incubus”, have helped in his creative style and lyric writing ability. A rarity now days his wide vocal range leaves him with the ability to sing anything from soul to metal. Proving his diversity he won first place at a hip hop show for a freestyle rap battle where the audience found themselves jumping up and down cheering for more. He has a natural ability always leaving the audience impressed and entertained.
The newest member of the band on bass is pat. With influences such as “primus”, “mr Bungle”, “Red Hot chili Peppers”, “Incubus”, and “nuclear rabbit”, His perfect match in style and creativity has now left the puzzle complete. His heavy plucking and slapping makes it hard for audiences to sit still.
Still strong after 7 years suffocate the creep enjoys playing music just as much as they did when picking up their instruments for the first time.
