Bio
Our core sound is simply guitar, bass, and drums. From there, we can add or alter sounds and timbres. The Piano adds a smoothness to the sound that we like to have in some of our tunes, but we like to avoid a cluttered sound so we try to not overuse it. In each of our original songs we strive for a new sound, even if it is a subtle change. Our signature sound has become the cello used in two of our songs. 2 of our members can play bass, 2 can play piano, 2 play guitar, plus we have a frequent guest solo player who can incorporate alto sax, flute, clarinet, or additional percussion into our sound. This versatility of talent allows us to step outside the typical guitar,bass, drums set. We have a lot of variety in our musical backgrounds (classical, jazz, acoustic rock). Our biggest influences are Coldplay, John Butler Trio, Great Big Sea, Moses Mayfield, Alexi Murdoch, Dave Matthews, The Beatles, Virginia Coalition, and Audioslave.
