Split The Enemy

BandMetalRock

STE has energetic and full sounding guitars. Our music sounds like a mix of As I Lay Dying and Chimaira. Split the Enemy offers unique vocals at just the right times, 3 part harmonies and even live drum/bass solos.

Biography

An unheard mix of unique vocals, energetic guitars, and an outright insane live show is what Split The Enemy has to put on the table. The name 'Split The Enemy' is pulled from the idea of killing and destroying enemy within yourself; The part of you that makes you believe you're not good enough or strong enough. Split The Enemy's music has been described as a mix of Chimaira and As I Lay Dying, but at the same time, it is also it's own sound; unheard in the music scene of Arizona. Split The Enemy has spread through the Arizona desert like wildfire; catching people's attention and being broadcast over local radio waves. Performances with bands such as Wicked Wisdom, Mower, Resist the Embrace, Idle Red, Hed PE, Autumn's End, Love Said No, Prong, Primer 55, Hemlock, My Darling Murder and many more, STE is on the fast track to exploding into the music scene beyond Arizona. Split The Enemy's last debut EP "Hope In Distance," was recorded by producer/engineer Michael Beck (Dream Theatre, Phunk Junkeez, Abigail Williams, Knights Of The Abyss).

Split The Enemy is gearing up for an epic release of their new album in the making entitled "The Beast Manifests." Although there is no official release date, you can catch these guys tearing up local venues such as The Clubhouse, The Marquee Theatre, Club Red and more.

Brand new music from "The Beast Manifests" is available for preview on Split The Enemy's Myspace music player, and on a sampler @ live shows.

Lyrics

A Song Won't fix Anything

Written By: Nick Charles

A new hope tries desperately to escape your delusions
Just to be replaced by a disconsolate outlook on the world we share
Feeling worthless and clinging to a memory this hard will only amplify your torment
You feel like you’ve been deceived and lulled into submission
Meanwhile all your friends are growing tired of your redundant self-pity
You can’t stop looking back
I know exactly what its like. In regards to you, all I have to say is…

You keep pretending that this pain is never-ending but if there’s one thing that I know it’s that a blessing never lasts forever
Everyone’s saying that a song won’t fix anything and that’s why I wrote this one because it’s true
I’m not trying to be clever.

There’s so much I would change for you if I had a second chance
How much more cliché would I sound if I said I’m not adjusting too well
Pride, lust, romance, and betrayal are natural functions of our species and I need some time to adapt

There it is, plain in paper with the ink rapidly running down in a mix of tears dripping from the fiery eye of a demon
My passion is my source of strength. No destination is seen in length but in time I come to see many, not knowing which direction to take so I take my own.

You keep pretending that this pain is never-ending but if there’s one thing that I know it’s that a blessing never lasts forever
Everyone’s saying that a song won’t fix anything and that’s why I wrote this one because it’s true
I’m not trying to be clever.

Unbridled

Written By: Nick Charles

Take a wild guess who’s finally back
Returned to stay propose a toast to that
Still don’t give shit what you may have heard
‘Cause payback’s a bitch I’m on top of the world

Banishment won’t keep you from me
I infiltrate your only means of protection
I’m barricading your walls with my fists
For lack of a better word, my will be done!

You throw the first punch if I’m unwelcome
Take off the gloves. Lets go
I’m on the loose now. Come out and get some
Unbridled to the bone
You’ll never gain control

No room for compensation
Or equally useless negotiation
Pointless to argue now. I’m the most sinister foe around. If you’re in my way than I’ll mow you down. The last laugh will be mine

I can see your fate
It’s looking gloomy. You see right through me
Ill-destined and hopelessly waiting to die
Still willing to start a reaction
Where were you when I was alone, betrayed and abandoned, all on my own?
I’m coming home

You throw the first punch if I’m unwelcome
Take off the gloves. Lets go
I’m on the loose now. Come out and get some
Unbridled to the bone
You’ll never gain control
