Bio

Yves Valbrun, AKA Steeve Khé started his professional career in 1986 with the popular band So kute. He recorded two CD's with the band and one of those CD's was "Best Album of The Year" " Hait's Trpohée De La Gloire. Steeve went on to perform at The Montreal Jazz Festival, and did the opening act for international artist Wyclef Jean with Muzion.
He was then invited to participate in various festivals such as: les Francofolies de Montréal et le Festival d’été de Québec. He matures his styles with influences from Marvin Gaye, Francis Cabrel, Cool & the Gang, Johnny Hallyday, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Patrick St-Eloi et Bob Marley. Since the release of his first solo album Urbanistik, Steeve sticks to the Urban Soul, Afro-Groove and R&B, which resulted in an urban amalgam that reflects his personal convictions.

Steeve Khé is a complete and consummate musician, composer, song writer. Marked by both intense integrity and humor, he earned accolades from his close friend GUNDEI and was a finalist at the "Best Talents" contest with the song "I Can Do It", sponsored by the French Embassy en Haiti and The Ministry of Culture.
As a multi-talented artist, Steeve possesses a virtually unparalleled range and full command of his voice, making the practically impossible seem effortless. Celebrated by critics and audiences alike as one of Haiti's foremost artists, he met with the lead singer of COLD PLAY during his trip to Haiti, with whom he performs a duet.
Collectively with So kute, he has appeared and performed for a numerous radio and TV stations in unplugged sessions and collaborated with nearly every major talent in the Haitian Music Industry. Known by his peers, Steeve boasts a long and rich tradition of performing with some of the top artists in Haiti and the Haitian Diaspora. He co-wrote the hit song "Fake" for Miami-based band 509 and travels extensively each year and has twice performed at the Roots & Culture Festival in Miami. That summer it topped all bands in the line-up, and played club and cabarets gigs in Florida and throughout Montreal.

Steeve does not separate his music from his heart nor does he separate his ideas from his daily life. I open himself up to learning as much as he can about humanity and this mysterious life experience. It is from this personal place that he writes his songs.

Steeve Khé is a unique combination of entertainer, crowd pleaser whom charisma prompts him to communicate and interact easily with the public. An immense vocal talent, Steeve's career as a singer has been profoundly defined by an unwillingness to separate his passion for music from his passion for human dignity. He is a skilled performer and an outspoken artist for love, peace, and harmony who brings to the stage an integration of world consciousness, spiritual discovery, and great entertainment.
