Stef Kalloo

BiographyStef Kalloo - singer/songwriter native to the beautiful twin island of Trinidad and Tobago. She began singing at the early age of 4. She would sing gospels for her parents and Grandparents which eventually led to her singing in the children’s choir at church. During the early years of high/secondary school at Lakshmi Girls Hindu College, Stef started experimenting with song writing and guitar playing. At the tender age of 12 she wrote her first song. She was a part of the school choir and music classes taught at the school and also joined a pop rock band called “Atlantis” at the age of 17 where they performed gigs on weekends at several night lounges and clubs.

During the first year at The University of the West Indies while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business Management, Stef was introduced to producer Carl ‘Beaver’ Henderson where she auditioned to work with him. He instantly agreed to working with her and became her manager for a period of five years teaching her new ways of developing her song writing and singing abilities. She also began Arabian Dancing at the N9 Dance Company and became an advanced member and part of the performing troupe for a period of five years. Here, she met lifelong friends who were creatively similar to herself. She also began vocal training with singer/songwriter Glenda Collens to develop her vocal skills and sound. She started to blend sounds of pop, techno, dancehall and world beats to create her fusion music which can be categorized as Caribbean Pop/Fusion. Her first single “Dance the Night Away” was launched September 2010 via music video on YouTube and local TV station “Synergy TV” as well as at her debut performance at the Angostura “BOLD” launch where she was the opening act.

She also collaborated with Marlon Asher on the track “Beautiful Day” which has now been remixed in several versions for different territories in Europe. She plans to release new genres throughout the season as well as the summer time.

Stef is ready to take the music industry by storm with more upcoming songs and performances. Her aim...to create one bridge across the globe so that everyone can be united in each song she writes and sings.
