Stefani Guzman

Heartbreak indie rock.

While most teenagers were hanging out during their lunchbreak, Stefani Guzman was breaking into her high school's auditorium, playing on its massive stage, preparing.

The beginning, an independent debut in 2001, "Separate Waves of Life" is a raw and energetic introduction to the then acoustic folk/punk brat which led to a string of performances including the Central Canada Exhibition, Ottawa Folk Festival (Winner of the "First Chance Saloon"), Rock City Women's Festival, the acclaimed Women's Voices Festival, Ladyfest and CKCU 93.1 FM's Live Music Show.

Next came girly punk band, The Hussies!
A blend of sweet singing against raunchy electric guitar and beats, the Hussies began as Stefani's songwriting evolved from acoustic folk roots to an edgier, electric sound.

The Hussies released three versions of their first demo "H" as well as a 6 song EP entitled "Simple Songs for Complicated People", recorded at Little Bullhorn Studios.

Songs from both the Hussies' and Stefani Guzmans' debut EP are featured in Tori Fosters' independent documentary "533" Statements" which won Best Canadian Feature at Toronto's Inside Out Festival and is currently being screened across Canada and the U.S.

Stefani Guzman, either solo or with band has happily shared stages with the Gossip, Cougar Party, Department of Foreign Affairs, For the Mathematics, Jetplanes of Abraham, Lesbians on Ecstasy, Martina Sorbara, Pony Up!, Ember Swift, We Are Wolves, Vitamins For You, and Tom Wilson.

Nest came indie darlings, and Stefani's latest project, EastBorough.

Formed in the summer of 2006, EastBorough played their first show on a sweltering Canada Day
and by October, had released a 4 song self titled EP receiving exposure and radio rotation from Live 88.5 FM and CKCU 93.1FM.

Eastborough augments Stefani's raw and powerful sound with a crunchy backline, mixing in splashes of trumpet, melodica, vibraphone and moog.

This is music for the broken hearted, music for seekers, music for lovers.... music for sinners.
