Biography

S.T.E.M. (Space, Time, Energy and Mass) is a Progressive/Hard Rock band hailing from Long Island, NY. Paying homage to the influential greats whom defined Progressive Rock, S.T.E.M. manages to incorporate unconventional time signatures with heart pounding rhythms and mind accelerating lyrics yielding prolific thought by composition. By fluidly mixing elements of Mediterranean Soul, Funk and purist American metal, S.T.E.M. convincingly redefines the rock experience with the unique flavor of their arrangements and colorful harmonic progressions. Assembled in August 2006, S.T.E.M. is comprised of former members of "Project plan b", vocalist/percussion Ryan Safarian, guitarist Greg Bolomey and "Bunson Large" bassist Jeff Romano who then welcomed drummer Tony Consalvo completing the progressive rock quartet. S.T.E.M.'s influences are respectfully drawn from the undeniable and transcendentalist talents of pioneers like Dream Theater, Tool, Primus, Rush, Opeth, Gruvis Malt, and Pantera.

Lyrics: Ryan Safarian

I have given some my soul
To tunnel endlessly
Echoes reminding me
Bouncing their thought and their cause on the ceiling
When an old lie
Turns lie young
Pressured to part with finally
The part of me
Watching you wait for something bigger
Would likely feel this toll
Count the blessing of those who have been here
I’m enlivened to see this road
Got a bitterness
I’ll force it whiten
Though I’ve been treading so long
Remind me it
Remind me it
I’ve covered the breaking tide
Swallowed my endless pride
Learning to pray for something brittle
I rest
Those often be their own…
My creator
My own measure
My supposed glorious side
My derailleur
My oppressor
My opposing Jekyll and Hyde
I created all your fears and all your strides

Lyrics: Ryan Safarian

When it's over
When we're through with subtleties
Kill this mastering of streaming download dreams
Clouded over, the peeling vanity walls
Bleed out your house and lead me on and on
Reminisce you uninspired boar
Delegate your onus on us more
Regulate your focus on us all
Wondering out alone to avoid a feeling
Looking to catch a glimpse of natural sun
Count it over
Screaming victories
Count your deception of leaving us intrigued
Turn an overtone
To endless sodomy drones
Bleed out your house and lead me on and on
Reminisce you uninspired boar
Delegate your onus on us more
Regulate your focus on us all
Wondering out alone to avoid a feeling
Looking to catch a glimpse of natural sun
I'm in the oversold control of meaning
Being a part of your assembled thought
