Biography

Stephanie Anderson is a performing singer/songwriter solo artist who, with her captivating voice and distinctive style, conveys her lyrical message with incredible panache. Energetic, charismatic, perfectionistic and quietly spiritual, Stephanie Anderson is a brand that entrances fans from a broad demographic and genre.

Stephanie’s artistic flare was evident from the age of 10, already a seasoned ballerina and no stranger to the stage. Stephanie fed her drive to make music and seized the opportunity to study cello and flute in school. At 12, she taught herself to play guitar and in short order had her mother’s old guitar just a singin’!

However, she had yet to discover the one instrument that only Stephanie Anderson could ever play – her incredible voice!

Enter Stephanie Anderson – the full package. Everything came together when she placed first at a local Idol contest and within days was in the studio recording five of her original compositions. Soon she performing at charitable events, at church, at school, bonfires, open mic nights, kitchen parties and campfires – you name it, Stephanie was there, front and center.

Stephanie has also performed twice on the Maritime Beatle Event stage in Halifax and last summer finished as a semi-finalist in the Singer/Songwriter category of the UK Songwriting competition. Stephanie’s originals: “Believe In Me” and "Heartbeat" can be heard on Phonetic Bells, Indie Castle Radio, CKDU and Q104.

Stephanie has recently completed a 6-song EP at Denmark Productions Recording Studio with Dennis Field, and it is entitled "Parables." All of the songs are her original compositions, with various friends and musicians accompanying her.

Stephanie’s ultimate goal is to take her music to the International market and she is carefully identifying the milestones and undertakings that she must reach and pursue along the way. Hence, Stephanie plans to enroll in a Radio and Television Arts program within the next 18 months and in the meantime is booking and performing gigs throughout Nova Scotia. She is also thrilled to be one of 10 Indie artists to be featured on Halifax Plugged-In 11 CD compilation project and the associated releases planned for a local venue, Riverfest 2012 and CKDU radio. Stephanie is also continuously writing new songs for her next EP or LP and is actively pursuing performance opportunities.

“Stephanie Anderson has a style that is unique and mature for her age. Her voice has the ability to keep you captivated and enthralled in her music. From the first note to the last, she will take you on a musical journey that you can relate to.” Dennis G. Field, Denmark Productions

Stephanie Anderson is the emerging Canadian artist and the future of Canadian music.

Lyrics

Believe In Me

Written By: Stephanie Anderson

What did it mean when I said how I felt,
that I don't want to be with anyone else?
It's hard to know what you're thinking,
if you won't even tell me how you feel.

If you leave, you'll still have your friends.
I'll just be alone again.
Open your eyes and see what we could be,
I just want you to believe in me.

What did it mean when you said you loved me
and how long has it been a lie?
It doesn't matter now that you're gone,
I just wish you'd told me before everything went wrong.

If you leave, you'll still have your friends,
I'll just be alone again.
Open your eyes and see what we could be.
I just want you to believe in me.

I've felt it for so long
but why'd you have to play along?
I have to wonder what you cared about,
'cause I really thought we'd work this out.

If you leave, you'll still have your friends,
I'll just be alone again.
Open your eyes and see what we could be.
I just want you to believe…
If you leave, you'll still have your friends.
I'll just be alone again.
Open your eyes and see what we could be.
I just want you to believe in me.

In me, yeah.
I just want you to believe in me.

Sidelines

Written By: Stephanie Anderson

Just wanted you to know
I can’t stand it when you go
So won’t you stay with me
I’ll sit here with you happily

It’s so hard to explain
How I’m feelin’ with you today
‘cause when you look at me
My tongue wraps around my teeth

People watching from the sidelines
Will never see the sparks in your eyes
We will laugh and we will cry
That’s ok as long as you’re all mine

It’s so hard to believe
When you touch me so gently
That you’re in love with me
It must be wrong, it can’t be real

People watching from the sidelines
Will never see the sparks in your eyes
We will laugh and we will cry
That’s ok as long as you’re all mine

People watching from the sidelines
Will never see the sparks in your eyes
We will laugh and we will cry
That’s ok as long as you’re all mine

Heartbeat

Written By: Stephanie Anderson

Heartbeat, my heart it beats for you
Don’t speak, don’t speak
Just listen good

My life is starting
To revolve around yours
I hear ya callin’ and
Like gravity I fall

I wanna wakeup,
I wanna, wanna wakeup
Lyin’ next to you in the morning
All the other boys with their
Million dollar jeans cannot compare

Fallin’, fallin’ into your arms
It’s like jumpin’, it’s like jumpin’
Into the breathless sky

You give me shivers
the way you smile when I sing
One look in your eyes and
I am swept off my feet

I wanna wakeup,
I wanna, wanna wakeup
Lyin’ next to you in the morning
All the other girls with their
powdered faces cannot compare

What shape is your heart in?
Do you think mine could fit right inside?
‘cause I’m pretty sure that it will be
Just the right size
