Bio

Life is a journey. Journeys are full of people with stories that need to be told. Stephanie Day is telling her story through songs.

Her lyrics are honest and her voice is strong. She's found a comfy spot between vibey folk and indie pop, and her songs will find a place in your head and heart, not soon to be forgotten.

Stephanie started telling stories with music at a young age. By 14, she was playing the guitar. By the end of high school, she was writing and performing her own material in Omaha, NE, her hometown.

After a few years of building a fanbase there, she knew it was time to branch out. She recorded her first EP and planned a tour.

Unfortunately this tour fell through, but on the bright side, this seemed to be just what she needed to branch out yet again. Although she loved 'the good life' in Nebraska, her heart was ready to see more.

Stephanie moved to Nashville in August 2008.

And so another journey began.

Since moving there, she's been booking her own shows, found her place in the co-writing world, and does anything she can to grow as a writer and musician.

After her first year of living in Nashville, she spent some time in northern California and L.A. Although she loves the west coast and plans to travel and perform there, she realized Nashville was, for now, home.

After settling back into 'Music City,' Stephanie met Grammy award-winning producer, Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay, JJ Heller), and knew it was time to record her 2nd project. Through that process, she had the privilege of writing and performing with talented artists such as Andrew Osenga, Ryan Horne and Jennifer Knapp.

One of Stephanie's dreams is to make her listeners feel connected, understood and not alone. These songs weave together a story of what it feels like to lose your way, how it's possible to have hope in the midst of dark trials, and how the messy parts of life can actually end up leading to the best parts.

She completed the EP with Dane this past November ('Morning Came', available on iTunes 1.31.12!) and is looking forward to touring this year, along with focusing more on songwriting for film/tv.

Another journey is beginning, and she'd love to meet you on the way.
