STEPHANIE RHYNES SET TO RELEASE DEBUT RECORDING ‘kiss’ PRODUCED BY CHARLIE RAYL

Norman, OK – Local songbird Stephanie Rhynes is set to release her debut recording, kiss, on November 13, 2008 with Rayl Records. Produced by Norman’s Charlie Rayl, the album includes thirteen original tracks co-written by Rhynes and Rayl. A CD release party is scheduled for Thursday, November 13 from 7-9pm at Othello’s on Campus Corner in Norman and is open and free to the public. Special guests will be Charlie Rayl, Katie Mariah, and Kate Leary.

Stephanie Rhynes, a native of Ada, Oklahoma, moved to Norman to pursue a degree in Aviation at Oklahoma University (she currently holds a private pilot’s license). Her talent for songwriting and love of music soon found her paired up with Rayl, a longtime local composer, producer, and teacher. The two spent close to a year writing, rehearsing, and performing what has now accumulated to over thirty songs. Thirteen of the top were chosen for this album and recorded in an intimate, acoustical setting that truly showcases Rhynes’ delicate and tender vocals.

Cuts like “Don’t Wake Me Now,” “Paper Planes,” and “Goofy Grin” prove Rhynes’ ability to tackle life’s spectrum of complex issues, yet yields a youthful optimism that keeps it light and fun. Although approaching the ripe age of 22, Rhynes writes that of a seasoned pro and offers cleverly crafted prose, musically fine-tuned by Rayl – the result: a debut of catchy, playful tunes impressive enough to contend with the surge of female singer-songwriters dominating the charts today.
