Los Angeles

Los Angeles
By: Stephen Belin

I’m running blindly down the runway
I’ve got to catch my plane by nine,
And there’s a rain cloud right behind me
It’s in my mind,

Then a voice it comes to tell me
That there’s a call out on the line,
A voice so sweet it calls for halos
It’s in my mind,

Call Los Angeles
I’ve missed my flight
I won’t be coming home tonight,
Call Los Angeles
I’ve missed my flight
I wont see my baby tonight,

I sit alone out by the window
Oh, how the plane engines they roar,
Then our song plays on the radio
It’s nothing more,

I can see the stars reflecting on me
Each one’s a sparkle and a fade,
A sweet sky promenade at midnight
I miss those days

Call Los Angeles
I’ve missed my flight
I won’t be coming home tonight,
Call Los Angeles
I’ve missed my flight
I wont see be coming home tonight,

Oh my god
Oh my god
I miss her,

I can see the birds out on the horizon
Flying west out towards the sun
Where my baby-sits in sunlight
I’m on the run

Jesus I need you to guide me home
It will take an angel to untangle me
I miss her pearl and ivory skyline
Oh my, Oh me,

Call Los Angeles
I’ve missed my flight
I won’t be coming home tonight,
Call Los Angeles
I’ve missed my flight
I wont see my baby tonight,

Oh my god
Oh my god
I miss her,

Unmade Graves

Unmade Graves
By: Stephen Belin

All my life, I’ve been stumblin’ down
And I never once escaped my own shadows,
And all my life
And I never once found my way back home,
So when I quiver head to feet
My lungs collapse in sleep
I was found today, laid in my grave to stay,

In my travels, I found many towns that I claimed home
From mining shafts where I gambled all my cash,
Along the way stayed with good friends, open arms, and open stove
The dirt between my nails told of where I’d roamed,
So when time’s vine slowly dies
And I drink one glass of wine,
I was finally made
Laid in my grave to stay,

What I’ve learned, from voices seen and faced heard
Is that we’ll all fight, struggle, and hurt one day,
From men with money, to women stacked five children high,
A fond farewell in one’s life,
So speak a single scene,
Of a life to strong to seize,
I was found today, laid in my grave to stay,
Laid in my grave unmade,
Laid in my grave to stay,
