Lyrics

Average Soldier

Written By: Aliya Rose Kunz

“Don’t worry, it will be alright.” That’s what the soldier said to his wife.
He died that night. “I’ll never ever leave my baby girl.” That’s what
he said before he left the world. Convinced that he had lied,
She hung her head and cried.

The soldier did what he had to do; he knew he may not make it through;
he knew he may not see the light of day. He suffered through the darkest
night; still he told her it would be alright; and when he fought, he fought for her.
He’s not your average man. No. He’s your average soldier.

He came to visit home one day; they knew that he was not the same.
The didn’t ask him why. They saw it in his eyes.
He got the news there on his way that his buddy died that very day.
He hung his head and cried. He never said goodbye.

The soldiers do what they have to do; they know they may not make it through;
They know they may not see the light of day. They suffer through the darkest
night; still they say that it will all be alright; and when they fight they fight for her.
They’re not your average men. No. They’re your average soldiers.
(Remember your soldiers)

It was his turn on the field that day. His friends were gone; they died away.
He was so scared. He bowed and said his prayers.

The soldier did what he had to do; he knew he wouldn’t make it through;
he knew he wouldn’t see the light of day. He suffered through the darkest
night; still he told her it would be alright; and when he fought he fought for her.
He’s not your average man. No. He’s your average soldiers.
(Remember your soldiers)
“Don’t worry, it will be alright.” That’s what the soldier said to his wife.
He died that night.

Most Of All

Written By: Kevin and Mary Kunz

Every year the same faces in a frame;
Frozen... Happy still. Silent laughter filled.
Memories marked in time is all you left behind.
Did you think we’d be smiling back at me?

If you should die before I wake,
It’s true, the Lord your soul will take,
But I’ll be left with just faces on a page.
Now you lay there fast asleep.
I pray the Lord for me to keep
A moment for the things I never said.
In all this time so much was left unsaid.

Time can never age the faces on a page.
That was yesterday... Time took that away.
Your smile etched behind,
Your laughter fades in my mind.
Cruel as it can be, taking you from me.

A whisper in a willow tree...
A distant fading memory...
A picture of you there just holding my hand.
And now before I go to sleep
I pray the Lord for Him to keep
You safe for me and pass these words along.
I love you more, and miss you most of all.

I pray the Lord will pass these words along.
I love you more and miss you
Most Of All.

Step-Of-Faith

Written By: Kevin Kunz

You can’t put your finger on it
But it’s something you can hold onto.
You can’t touch it or see it,
But when it’s gone it cries to you.
Just open the curtain - no matter the view;
When your cross is too heavy God will carry you!

(And) All it takes is just a step of faith.
Just take one step, and walk in grace.
All it takes is just a step of faith.
By His grace, it’s just one step - a step of faith.

You can stand on its promise.
You can walk in its simplicity.
You can live by its power,
And its hope can set you free.
Just turn up the music even if it’s out of tune.
When the road is too narrow,
God will lead you through!

The faith that moves a mountain
And walks through the fire
The faith that flies on eagles' wings
Lord, give me faith to run the race,
Faith to fight the good fight,
And faith to sing the Savior’s song!

That's Where Life Is Really Lived

Written By: Kevin Kunz & Greg Summers

What do you think about?
What do you talk about in the whisper of your mind?
What do you fret about?
What do you dream about in the watches of the night?
What do you long for?
What do you hope for in the shadow of your soul?
What do you cry about?
What do you scream about in the secrets of your heart?

Chorus:
'Cause that's where life is really lived; where no one's eyes can see.
It's in the secrets of the heart where Jesus died to be.
'Cause that's where life is really lived; hidden in your dreams. It's in the secrets of the heart, and only God can set you free.

What lives behind the face?
What lies behind the mask? What are you searching for?
What's in the secret place?
What's in the quiet place? What's in the space between the lines?
What do you run to?
What do you fly to that no one's ever seen?
What do you cry about?
What do you scream about in the secrets of the heart?

Chorus

Bridge
What do you think about?
What do you talk about?
What do you long for?
What do you hope for?
What do you cry about?
What do you scream about?
What do you long for?
What do you hope for in the shadow of your soul?

Chorus
