Stereobrigade Extravaganza (hereinafter SBX) is an explosion of a band. They have previously made their mark in Norway with a number of good placements in various competitions, and has an impressive resume when it comes to exciting collaborations. The band struck like lightning from a clear sky in 2007, when they went from being relatively unknown, to win Sunnhorlandsmesterskapet in Pop and Rock. Later, they managed to be both weekly Urørt in Hordaland, winners of Battle Of The Bands Sandnes, and monthly winners in Oppdrag Demo.
SBX has something for everyone, and with a varied repertoire ranging from light pop to hard rock, it is difficult to place the band in a particular genre. What is abundantly clear is that the band has avoided falling between genres, and balances with precision between populism and credibility in what is best described as their own genre, ”Extravagant Music”. This has led to very successful support work for such varied norwegian artists as; DDE, Lomsk, Kvelertak, Orbo And The Longshots, Jorn, et al
The band is based in Hordaland, and has done a majority of jobs in and around this region. This includes gigs at Hulen, AKKS, Kvarteret and Garage in Bergen, Checkpoint Charlie in Stavanger, Øyo Festival at Stord, Classic Rock Festival in Egersund, Rockfest Haugesund, and a shorter list of gigs in Oslo and Kristiansand. SBX was also involved in a project where bands played in prisons in southwestern Norway, and was the only band to be invited three consecutive years because of very positive feedback.
As a band, Stereobrigade Extravaganza is not greedy. All we need is our travel expences covered, somewhere to sleep, and something to eat. This summer SBX wants to stand on stage as much as possible, and I am very interested to hear from you if SBX could be interesting for your festival.
