"Unreel is one of the most overlooked local bands in Indy. The band is a collection of four brilliant young men who are inspiring and have one of the best live shows. These boys should be geeting a lot more publicity and should be checked out by all..."
-NUVO Newsweekly Best of Indy '03 - NUVO Newsweekly
Led by front man Jay Sandefer, they pushed the envelope and shredded it to pieces. With crowd favorites "Bomber Jacket" and "Uncle Sam" wrapping up the show, Unreel showed why they are one Indy's top local acts.

...with some traditional rock ānā roll and their willingness to experiment, Unreel added a needed air of grittiness to their set. ...they held together with compelling tone.

Bio
A Brief History...
The band is comprised of four childhood friends who grew up together playing sports and listening to music. Our very first performance was at our middle school talent show in 1998 under the name Ultraviolet when we are all 14 years old. That summer we downsized from 5 to 4 members, renamed the band Jack Rabbit Slim and began playing shows anywhere anyone would have us.
1999-2000 changed the name to Unreel, released a 4 song EP on indie500 Records and began playing in more respectable venues around town with bands like Wonderdrug and Push Down & Turn.
2001-2003 cut our teeth as an opening act for many a band on many a night....other highlights include: performance on FOX 59 Morning Show, air play on WRZX103, WTTS92.3, WZPL99.5, WKLU101.9 and showcases at Midwest Music Summit with Rockfour and Fall Out Boy.
2004 the song "Forever Be" was featured on the Live From Bloomington Project 2004 CD and the locally acclaimed INDYMP3 Project (18,000 units moved); 1st appearance in the Benchmark Battle of the Bands; 3rd showcase at Midwest Music Summit.
Debut album coming 2005 from indie500 Records.
