Stereo Disconnect formed as a cover band in 2004 playing under the name HUSH. After a reshuffling of band members and a refocusing on original material they settled into their current configuration in the fall of 08 by adding bassist Joseph Galambos. The Stereo Disconnect EP, which was a 30 minute self titled collection of 6 songs was recorded in the summer of 09.
Zach Knapp came on as a permanent lead guitar extraordinaire in August of 09.

Stereo Disconnect strive to create primarily lyrical songs, but without the pitfalls of the lyrical song structure. The lyrics, written by Ilya Portnoy have been described as strangely inviting, with a dark humor twist, and a lively rhythmical delivery. But the focus of the band is on texture and fullness, with bold and exciting music.

Stereo Disconnect clearly wear their influences on their sleeves, yet they always aim to pay tribute to, rather than borrow. It was always of vital importance that anything the band creates be purely original. The results can only be described as unique.

Stereo Disconnect are currently working on their first full length LP, scheduled to be recorded in December 2010. They are currently testing their new and exciting material on unsuspecting listeners who come to see them live.
