StereoHype

BandRockPunk

StereoHype is determined to make music their life, no matter the cost. These six guys put their souls on the line for every show and know the true meaning of dedication and hard work. This is one band that continues to break boundaries in the music industry.

Biography

The sonic explosion that is StereoHype has been captivating audiences with every show, and there is certainly no end to that in sight. Based out of Bay St. Louis, MS (of hurricane Katrina fame) the band has a sound not usually heard from the Deep South. Their sound has become something truly original, staying away from the fads of the times, expanding on their already well established core following and gathering many new loyal fans with each and every show. Upbeat aggressive rock with a pop sensibility combined with the clean tones of ska and reggae on top of smooth, snazzy brass lines makes their sound truly genre defining, if they even could be grouped into a genre.

• StereoHype have released 4 studio EP’s, completely DIY.

• StereoHype will release their 5th and debut full length studio album “More Than Motion” in May. The album contains 13 brand new songs – including the title track “More Than Motion”, ”Loco Motive”, “Times Like These”, “Escape Route”, ”Thirteenth Story” and more. The album was produced by Mark Black.

• Release shows are held at The Brickhouse in Houma, LA, The Hard Rock in Biloxi, MS, and The House of Blues in New Orleans, LA.

• After the events of hurricane Katrina, StereoHype kept the local music scene alive by playing along the gulf coast as much as possible, spreading their name and music to people in need of an escape.

• During the release of Tequila Sunrise in late 2006, StereoHype managed to secure playing at Mobile’s BayFest, one of the south’s biggest festivals.

• In 2007 StereoHype shared the main stage w/artists such as Daughtry and HellYeah at Mobile’s BayFest after a live TV interview of their upcoming performance.

• StereoHype worked their way through many talented bands in battles to bring them to the Semi-Finals of BodogBattle, where they played a riveting set at the House of Blues, Dallas.

• StereoHype was commissioned by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 5, 2008 to play their Cinco de Mayo celebration in front of a packed house.

• CPR Fest XII was opened by StereoHype on July 5, 2008 to over 10,000 alongside POD, Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd, and more. Following their explosive performance, StereoHype was featured in the southern Mississippi newspaper The Sun Herald as one of the tightest performing groups at the festival, selling more merchandise than any local band has ever sold that had the opening spot.

• The performance at CPR Fest along with other videos can be found online at www.youtube.com/stereohype.

• StereoHype has never had any sort of label support or management, and has done everything they have accomplished on a DIY lifestyle. They frequently make trips up north for festivals and shows, including Atlanta’s Mass Ska Raid and Tennessee’s Ska Weekend. They were invited by Full Sail University of Orlando to come record in December of 2008.

More Than Motion

Written By: StereoHype

Oh I see the opportunity and never take it
I see the opportunity and never take it
I'm searching for the answers that don't exist
Took me by complete surprise
Fell face first when I closed my eyes
Into an explosion
This kiss was more than motion
My pulse racing and boiling veins
Slip into the night and take it all away

This is how its gotta be
I've got nothing in between
I'm about to lose control
Now it's gone and I want more

So here we are face to face
I've got an addiction to the taste
And I'm a loaded gun you can't contain
And I'm going down tonight
I'm waking up in cold sweat
My breath is short in her presence
And I'm hanging on by a thread and she could cut me off tonight

This is how it's gotta be...

Thirteenth Story

Written By: StereoHype

It's so hard to catch my breath
I've never been so high on the balcony
I'm on the 13th story
And I'll try to keep my balance as I'm looking down
People walking, people talking, people all around
'cause they got somewhere to go
No two cities feel the same
They're all different
I wanna travel the world

Whoa don't know where to go
Whoa this is the life on the road

'Cause I'm living for free
I've got everything I need
On the 13th story
Got spooner on the 12th floor he's always chasing ass
Got stephen smoking cigars
I'm getting high with tally wack

Whoa don't know where to go
Whoa this is the life on the road

Escape Route

Written By: StereoHype

Neurons fire in my brain a new idea takes form
Circulated through my body and it leaves through the fretboard
Its all vibrations, transformed to melodies
A synchronized connection between sound and energy

Over the edge, I'm out of time
I've made mistakes, when will I find my place
In this life of mine, I can't escape

It's something based on self control and hard to balance
Music's pumping through my soul, I need an outlet

Blackout

Written By: StereoHype

How can I be at the bottom of the bottle
You know I just picked it up today
And alcohol don't solve no problems
Drink it down down down anyway

Hanging out downtown down on Bourbon double-fisted
When I was trying to clear my mind
Give me two shots of jim beam
Give me a shot of patron and a kamikaze
Gonna start the day off right
I'll lose control tonight 'cause im never satisfied
Sick of living this routine in this life
We'll find a way, burn the past and say
All that matters is tonight
I guess we'll never know until we meet

At the bottom of the bottle
You know I just picked it up today
And alcohol don't solve no problems
Drink it down down down anyway

It must've been perfect timing
When she walked in
And caught my attention from across the bar
Kept looking over my shoulder
'Cause I was thinking of the things I could do with her
If we got together and we left the bar
And this doesn't make sense
Is it my lack of confidence
That's always kept me from
Where I wanna go
We'll find a way burn the past and say
I won't regret this tomorrow
I guess we'll never know until we meet

At the bottom of the bottle
'Cause I've been staring at you all damn night
And there's no regrets tomorrow
Drink it down down down tonight

Just drink it down

Can Tally be at the bottom of the bottle
You know he just got paid today
And alcohol don't solve no problems
Drink it down down down anyway
Just drink it down

No Heroes

Written By: StereoHype

There are no heroes here tonight
Even the strong have lost the fight
There are no heroes here tonight, yeah
How many innocent people die
'Til we spare a human's life
'Cause they're killing by the thousands

But if we try it will get better
And all the problems fade away
'Cause in the end we only have each other
To save us from our dying days

We're so caught up in the world today
Everybody's chasing money while the world decays, they
Tax me for every minute I work
I'm paying for a war that I don't support
There's people starving in every country when most of us throw away more than they eat
I don't know how it came to this all I can say is I feel sorry for my children, yeah

But if we try....

There are no heroes here tonight

Scattered, Covered, Chunked

Written By: StereoHype

I work my knuckles to the bone
Search for a place to call my home
What will it take to understand
Will I survive without a plan
There are things I can't control
When water rises, time to go
And devastation follows me again

I'll search for an answer until the day I die
Somehow I'll find out what brings meaning to life
It's so hard to live my life with trust so hard to find
And I'll find out what it takes
To bring, meaning to life
Oh meaning to life

In this world it can get so cold
Try to stay warm stay on my toes
The same old struggle gets me low
Shit it gets me low
I work my knuckles to the bone
Search for a place to call my home
And devastation follows me again

I'll search for an answer until the day I die...

Times Like These

Written By: StereoHype

Another day another dollar gone
I spend my cash before the break of dawn
I'll ride around with a little gas
Just to see if I can make it last
My baby's not comin' home no more
So I'm stopping off at the liquor store
Hookin' up with a bottle of jack
Don't know if Ima make it back

'Cause it's times like these
Just don't feel right, wondering
If I can make it through
Through the night, awe yeah
Times like these you just feel so low
So I'll just drive around with no where to go

Hey babe I know you've gone away
But I know I'm gonna make it through
To see another day
I could've been wrong but now I'm alone
And you were right but I know
That's not gonna take you from his arms tonight
Know you're with you're friends trying to put me down
Trying to write me off like I was some kind of clown
Don't you think the thoughts of us are running through my head
'Cause tomorrow I'll be waking up in somebody else's bed

'Cause it's times like these
Just don't feel right, wondering
If I can make it through
Through the night, awe yeah
Times like these
You just feel so low
So I'll just stay at home and just get stoned

Another day another dollar gone
I spend my cash before the break of dawn

'Cause it's times like these..

Don't feel right
Don't feel right
Don't feel right right right right right
