Biography

The electronic duo Stereo Hypnosis, a father and son collaboration of Óskar and Pan Thorarensen was founded in Flatey Iceland 2006.
Pan has made a name for himself in the Icelandic Hip Hop scene under the name Beatmakin Troopa, while Óskar is known to older generations as the artist Jafet Melge, one of the founding members of the performance and electronic collective Inferno 5.
They have already released two albums Parallel Island (2007) which was recorded in the remote Island of Flatey in Breiðarfjörður. The latest album Hypnogogia (2009) was produced in the two street village of Hellissandur, situated by the great Mount Snæfellsjökull.
Stereo Hypnosis is very ambient-driven electronica, full of lonely organic environmental sounds, birds in the background, waves crashing the shore, water dripping, with soft beats and gentle melodies that cast a soothing feeling of overcast skies and rainy days.
