"DOLCE VITA"

It’s very problematic to recognize Ukrainian roots in Stereoliza. The artist doesn’t exploit of folk elements that are typical of a lot of Ukrainian acts. Stereoliza are really cosmopolites. Both Katya and Alex look more like Harvard of Michigan State University students then Ukrainian showbiz stars. Unlike their colleagues who try to conquer international music scene covered with yellow-blue national flag, Stereoliza doesn’t make that big of a deal about their exceptional status. They just do their thing, and are likely to put a Ukrainian flag on the top of the world hip-hop industry.

"Stereoliza's Polish Triumph"

Stereoliza recently played onstage together with In-Grid on the popular TV-show "Hity na Czasie". The band had been invited to headline the show, which was broadcast by the Polish national channel TVP-2, and treated the audience to their hit "X.Y.Z."
In-Grid was so inspired by the Stereoliza show that the personification of Italian style invited the duet to dinner. The two parties hit it off immediately, exchanging opinions on trends in music. In-Grid seemed to hold the opinion of her fellow musicians in high regard with the dancefloor queen saying that Stereoliza were one of the best acts she had heard for a while.
The following day Stereoliza gave several interviews to the Polish mass-media and visited one of the country's most popular stations, Radio ESKA, who were happy to say that "X.Y.Z." is currently topping all of Poland's main charts. Stereoliza were truly overwhelmed by their massive Polish fanbase and the video for the song can be seen on music channel VIVA. - What's On

Bio

Founders of the band – vocalist and writer of lyrics Katya Shalayeva and Alex Ginchev (responsible for music and programming).

Katya is an attractive blonde girl with background in a nice family in Ukraine. Until her music career swept in, she used to lead a life of a “good girl” and graduated from a prestigious university with a major in International Relations. No one could seriously think that Katya would soon break all stereotypes about Diplomatic School graduates and would become a hip-hop performer spicing up her songs with shocking lyrics. As Katya says, “I’m a bad girl, and all my chances are hurled. But now I feel much better and my grounds are firm.” She feels better writing and performing music that she likes then leading a “normal life.” Katya and Alex met and played together in a jazz band, and then decided that they want to create different type of music. In 2005 Igor Sakach joined the band, adding a lot of energy and inspiration.

"Stereoliza" has three music videos produced in U.S.A. that got airplay on all-American music TV-channel “International Music Feed”. They entered top 10 of “International Hits” chart. The band was invited by IMF to Los Angeles to shoot an exclusive interview “Artist Feed”. All the videos were also heavily rotated on Ukrainian, Polish, Russian and American TV-channels: M1, O-TV, RU-Music (Ukraine), Viva and MTV (Poland), MTV (Russia), IMF (U.S.A.).

Stereoliza is an actively performing artist. In 2006 in the framework of the world tour of the "Black Eyed Peas", Stereoliza was invited to open for them in Kiev. The band participated in the biggest festivals of Poland and Russia, performing on one stage with the Rasmus, Melanie C, Planet Funk, Mattafix, Andreas Johnson, etc.

The year 2007 was marked by all-Ukrainian tour, organized by one of Ukrainian mobile operators, where Stereoliza played together with Sean Paul, Chemical Brothers and Apollo 440.

In 2007 “X.Y.Z.” and “Corporate Logic” songs attracted the attention of American TV and film producers. “X.Y.Z.” became a soundtrack of “Moonlight Show. Episode 13”, ànd “Corporate Logic” was picked as a soundtrack to the feature film “Forever Strong” (sport’s drama).

Recently the band has moved to Los Angeles and is working on the new album, playing gigs in various venues in U.S.A.
