Bio

Donny Ray, guitarist and songwriter began writing playing guitar before undergrad in college and has been playing for about 16 years. He began writing songs in 2003 and recording them on the 60 second sound recorder on an old PC laptop. Song writing became a nearly constant passion and Williams began to amass a library of tiny 60 second songs often pasted together to four to five minute lenght. The sound quality was horrible, but this was the basis for the sound you hear today.

In 2007, Williams ventured out and joined a band called Dos. The collaboration played several venues in DC for about a year before life and circumstances put playing on hold. Later in 2008, Donny Ray met Evan Oxhorn, and the two clicked immediately. They began putting together songs in Donny Ray’s basement studio. The pair upgraded their equipment and music software and began getting serious. Evan left to study abroad and returned two years later and the pair picked up where they left off, but this time even more determined to put together a project. Using Craigslist, the pair discovered an amazing bass player from New York, Bruce Fulton, who played for several bands and who had been living and doing some recording in Japan for several years. The band discovered an amazing drummer out of Wisconsin, Cooper Glodoski who is a natural fit and fell right into the sound. Hoping for a fuller sound, the band brought on Alexandre Jeanty, a guitarist from DC who adds amazingly creative riffs. Evan left again to work out of the country, and now the foursome has tightened its sound, and is playing DC venues and recording their fist studio project. The band is also booking shows in New York City.

stereosleep’s sound is real rock music with a depth and a very rich soulfulness. The music is all about life. Its very cerebral, very intense, and illustrates the tension, happiness, sadness, frustration, longing, and excitement of life. stereosleep is a dream in HD.
