Bio

Meet Sterling, a new and accomplished artist that you’ll certainly want to hear more of. He is unsigned, yet has a large fan club. He takes the ladies’ breath away. Sterling defines his musical style as an R&B sound with a Hip-Hop feel. His music flows through the body with sensuous, rhythmic tunes you'll love to groove to. Sterling Dixon was born in Temple, Texas, but was raised in Irvington, Alabama. As a young man in school standing over 6 feet tall, Sterling thought sports might bring him success, but knew early on that music is what he really felt passionate about.

Sterling starting singing at age 8 with other family members as part of a singing class. The lessons were taught to him by an older cousin. He was inspired to practice his singing religiously. As a child he would say, “I wish my voice was more like professional vocalists”. However, he was told by his instructor that his voice is beautiful, it’s the one God gave him, and he should use it happily. Sterling sang mostly gospel music as a child.
At age 12, Sterling joined a local rap group that was started by another family member. “We had a beat machine and a karaoke machine that we would record our rap music with”, he says. Creative thinking and artistic writing is a talent he always knew he had. He began writing songs at age 16. He wrote the hooks for over half the songs created by the group. Sterling also wrote hooks for other local rappers in the area, and was called the “hook man”. He performed in many talent shows as a child.
Sterling grew up in a good home and was raised by both parents. “My father has been a successful business owner for as long as I can remember”, says Sterling. He was instilled with these values and they are his drive to obtain the success he desire as a vocalist and entertainer.
His music influences are artists like T-Pain, Jamie Fox, The Dream, Sam Cooke, and Al Green, just to name a few. His latest EP "The Coming" is a prime example of his harmonious and lyrical diversity. It is a testimony of his passion to bring his powerful sound and unique style to listeners around the world. Determined to make it as a successful artist, Sterling has performed at many local charity and promotional events.
