It's a Singer/Songwriter style with a unique twist blending organic and electronic textures together to make an emotional and accessible sound.

Biography

“…The main goal of songwriting has always been
to convey an emotion.”
-S.C.

Coming from humble beginnings in the suburbs of Chicago, Steve Chambers and his family were uprooted during his high school years. Feeling displaced in unfamiliar surroundings, he found solace in his guitar. It was at this time that Steve developed his unique and eclectic sound. After moving around the country, he eventually landed back in the comfortable arms of Chicago.

Steve Chambers wanted to do something different with his music and has achieved just that by teaming up with Scott Fritz from Stranded on a Planet Productions. A sound was created that captures the essence of songwriting, but also encompasses an intriguing and thought-provoking rush of emotion. Developed and textured in an elegant and distinctively homegrown way, his most recent, and self-titled, EP has received
an overwhelmingly positive response from his
fans and peers across the country.

Steve continues to make a name for himself around Chicago through his engaging live performances.
In August 2008, he was a semi-finalist in the
Annual UK Songwriting Contest sponsored by
The Guild of International Song-writers and Composers, BBC Radio, and the World Music Foundation.

Judges from the 16th Annual Billboard Song Contest said in regards to Leave Some Fire For Me,
“…The intro to this track does not let on where this song is going to go. Initially this seems to be a stripped down acoustic ballad, but it really ends up exploding into some intense electronic energy. This is a superb track!...”

Additionally, critics remarked …

“…The sensitive yet commanding vocal performance is a pleasure to listen to.”

The infectious single “Leave Some Fire for Me” has gained many accolades in recent months including a meteoric rise to Track of the Week on Garageband.com and topping the charts
at indie-music.com.

Leave Some Fire For Me

Written By: Steve Chambers

Honestly I don’t know
What I’d do without you girl
‘Cause you seem to always know
What I’m needing here
Decidedly mine, Undeniably yours
But I can’t seem to find
The words that seem to mean the most… most
So leave some fire for me ‘cause it’s getting cold without
Just leave some fire for me ‘cause I don’t want to ever be without
And I can’t seem to shake this off
Its taken control of me
And I can’t seem to get enough
Of what you and I seem to breathe
Decidedly mine, Undeniably yours
But I can’t see what’s coming on
But I know I want more, more, more
So leave some fire for me ‘cause it’s getting cold without
Just leave some fire for me ‘cause I don’t want this thing to burnout
I don’t want this thing to burnout
Girl you know I just got to say
Just leave some fire for me ‘cause it’s getting cold without
Just leave some fire for me ‘cause I don’t want this thing to burnout
Burnout, burnout, burnout

Anxiously Awaiting

Written By: Steve Chambers

Out of nowhere it comes in to scare what’s left of my mind
Like a bolt of lightning crashing right down beside me fraying what’s left of the line
But I’m going nowhere, faster and faster, than I think I’d like to drive
Because all my life’s tumbling down outside and I know it’s gonna be a bumpy ride and…

I cry out but you don’t hear a sound
Even though you look all around
There is nothing to be found

My oh my I think I’d rather die but then I’d probably miss
These tricky lies caused by everything inside is not worthy of what I give
But I keep trying to piece together silence that never seems to fit
Because all I hear is this noise and fear but I know there’s more to it and…

I cry out but you don’t hear a sound
Even though you look all around
There is nothing to be found

But I’ll try not to always second-guess my thinking
And I’ll try not to think myself to the point of drinking
And I’ll try not to worry, worry, worry because it doesn’t do a thing now
I’ll try but I make no promises to anything or anyone and…

I cry out but you don’t hear a sound
Even though you look all around
There is nothing to be found
…To be found

A Long Way Down

Written By: Steve Chambers

I heard the news today that you were thinking of going away
And I thought you might want to hear this first
It all seems so easy until you get on your way
But the hardest part is seeing your life flash by

But on the other hand it’s hard to meet all life’s demands
And I know it’s easy to get overwhelmed
And why not just leave it all and get out while you can
Believe me I’ve had those same thoughts so…

Come back
Come back to my arms
Don’t leave me
And understand where we are

‘Cause it’s a long way down
‘Cause it’s a long way down

But I rest my case on the fact that nothing else could beat faster than my own heart
But irregular fluttering, well it keeps my mind in check
‘Cause you know I’ll do what I must to carry this weight
Come to think of it, you might as well go on and end it
‘Cause you don’t care about anyone else
And you just don’t get it, ‘cause there’s nothing more permanent
Then following those thoughts straight into hell

But can I just get you through another day?
Can I just get you out of the rain?
Can I just keep you from wondering?
What it would be like down there

But catch me I’m falling fast and I’m counting on you to last
Can you, catch me I’m falling fast, faster than I’ve known

‘Cause it’s a long way down
And you don’t want to do it anyhow
‘Cause it’s a long way down
