Bio
Described as öne of the best voices you'll hear" and likened to Dave Gray and John Cougar Mellencamp, Steve Charles writes, produces and performs songs that cut to the heart of the subject at hand with warmth, passion and respect.
Currently recording his tenth CD "Sand and Sea"Steve has returned to his roots as a country boy bought up by the railway track offing a variety of acoustic based Gospell "I was Lost"and "Baby, won't you come back home"to the subtly energetic and Bluesy "Sand and Sea", to the haunting beautiful "You Melt Me" and the catchy down home story of small town life with "Mr Small town Guy".
As a writer with a broad taste in music, Steve covers all styles of music from Country to Pop, Reggae to light jazz and Gospell to Soul and Ballads.
Steve has been touring Australia since 1995 from the cities to remote isolated communities of the outback as a solo artist or with his
band "Straydogs" and more recently "the Steve Charles trio".
Steve's publisher is Aussie Independent Music, based in Tamworth NSW (Contact Rhonda Sinclair) (02) 6766 1954
