Bio
Steve began in music at a young age, transcribing birdsong onto an old Lowrey organ. Not wanting to be pigeonholed, he broke off to form Downright, a popular funk and dance band which created a following in the Southeast during the early '00's.
Upon moving to the northeast Steve worked with a number of wonderful musicians, including work with song maven Jaymay (Bluenote) and a stint producing the Americana collective King Wilkie (Rounder/Casa Nueva). While straddling the rock, funk, and folk worlds, Steve's many influences converge in a way that is unique and bold, with dashes of T. Rex, Pixies, and Tom Waits.
Steve now presents his record Shaky Floors, produced by the impresario Bill Emmons (Sonic Youth, Jon Spencer, Peter Bjorn & John), recorded at Sonic Youth's own Think Tank in Hoboken,
