BIOGRAPHY OF STEVE LOVELL

Steve Lovell born Stephen Lovell Mclean is a 22-year-old dynamic singer as well as an aspiring songwriter. Steve has an amazing ability to combine the vocal stylings and sounds of the greats Luther Vandross, Donny Hathaway and Whitney Houston with that of Soul singer Bilal into an incredibly smooth and unmatchable soul stirring sound of his own. Steve has been singing in the church since the tender age of seen and playing the piano since the age of nine. From the day he was born to his parents, both of them knew their son was destined to be an entertainer.

While attending Performing Arts schools his entire education, Steve has not only grown as a vocalist and musician, but these schools have helped him keep his passion and dedication to his music a top priority. Steve’s vast musical experiences include opening for Grammy Award winning R&B artist Chrisette Michele, Dr. Maya Angelou, Dianne Reeves, McCoy Tyner, and Savion Glover at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC),became a finalist at the Andre Harrell’s ‘Superstar Soul Search’ Competition in Philadelphia, performed at NYC’s Sugar Bar, SOB’s “Sol Village”, hosted by R&B Soul artist Eric Roberson, singing background for R&B singer Jennifer Holiday and sharing the stage with Gospel singers Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Vickie Winans, and Byron Cage at the McDonald’s Gospel Fest. Steve has done various R&B, Neo Soul, Gospel and Jazz shows in New Jersey, New York, Atlanta, Washington, DC and Ohio. His live performances are definitely worth hearing and will leave you knowing who the young singer is and telling everyone you know about him.

In February 2011, Steve Lovell became a finalist (50) contestants out of 26,000 through out the U.S. to audition for the new premier show “NBC THE VOICE” in LA.
Just recently, Steve sang the national anthem at the LA Lakers basketball game.

While previously pursuing his passion and dream of music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2010, Steve has come to the conclusion that every singer/songwriter has a different story to tell. He wants to express his story to the world by incorporating his passion and love for music with the essence of music and have such a huge impact that his story isn’t forgotten, but remembered like the greats that paved the way for him.

T. S. MONK-DRUMMER/BANDLEADER/COMPOSER:
“Well, I must say that the young Mr. McLean brings to the stage, the presence and magnetism of a Luther Vandross, and combines it with the elegance and sophistication of a Billy Ekstein. A ridiculous package at his tender age. Stephen is a future star for sure, so I would suggest you catch him now! He’s a real thriller
