Lyrics

What Ya Gonna Do?

Written By: Steve Pierson

Child is born without a care in the world
Grows up and plays with all the boys and the girls
Life starts to change and even deals him some blows
But he’s the one that chooses where he goes

What’s ya gonna do? You can give what you need
What’s ya gonna do? ust let go and you’ll see
What’s ya gonna do? Yes there’s hope to be free,
We can make a better life for you and me

Man with the paper, lookin’ for a job
Man with a gun, lookin’ for some fool to rob
Might fell like there ain’t no more hope in this life
We all live with our joy and strife

What’s ya gonna do? You can give what you need
What’s ya gonna do? ust let go and you’ll see
What’s ya gonna do? Yes there’s hope to be free,
We can make a better life for you and me

The past is done and baby, this is your time
So hit the road but leave your baggage behind

I’m only sayin’ this cuz I’ve been ther myself
I was handed peace and I put it up on the shelf
Traded in my life for a ten dollar bag
Thank God I made it out and I’m so glad

What’s ya gonna do? You can give what you need
What’s ya gonna do? ust let go and you’ll see
What’s ya gonna do? Yes there’s hope to be free,
We can make a better life for you and me

(solo)

The past is done and baby, this is your time
So hit the road but leave your baggage behind

I’m only sayin’ this cuz I’ve been ther myself
I was handed peace and I put it up on the shelf
Traded in my life for a ten dollar bag
Thank God I made it out and I’m so glad

What’s ya gonna do? You can give what you need
What’s ya gonna do? ust let go and you’ll see
What’s ya gonna do? Yes there’s hope to be free,
We can make a better life for you and me (x2)
