Steven Joseph Joshua Poltz left his post as an altar boy at SAINT Theresas Catholic Church and started writing songs. Perhaps it was the shock of the Desert heat or the trauma of the move from Halifax Nova Scotia.
For some reason he started a band called The Rugburns and began Touring, From Tijuana Mexico to Honalulu to New York City. He painted the Name of St. Josephs Catholic school on the side of his Van so cops would leave him alone.
As a boy in PalmSprings he went Trick oR Treating at Liberaces House and Met Elvis Presley at his private Jet at the Airport. (he still thinks Elvis hugged his 13 year old sister too Long)
After graduating from Univ. of San Diego (Political Science) he started touring and recording.
He went solo in 1998 And released one left Shoe on Mercury Records The Album garnered 3 1/2 stars in Rolling Stone.
Answering Machine is 56 songs all 45 seconds long. Outgoing messages from his home Machine. This is one of Neil Youngs favorite records.
Steve has won Best Acoustic Artist 3X
Artist of the Year 2X
and Influential Artist of the Decade at the San Diego Music Awards.
He has had songs featured in numerous television shows Dharma & Greg, Dawsons Creek and Party of Five
