"Poltz Review"

“Poltz has the impish sense of humor that lands mouthy but harmless boys in Saturday detention and possibly not-so-harmless men in the relationship doghouse—after a slap, or a drink, in the face or two…” - The Washington Times

"Poltz Review"

“Cracker singer David Lowery once opined that the world needs another folk singer ‘like I need a hole in the head.’ He must not have known about Steve Poltz…” - The Baltimore Sun

"Poltz Review"

“Steve Poltz weds his love of absurdity to winsome melodies and aching chords on Chinese Vacation… There are times on Chinese Vacation where Poltz eerily echoes Jeff Tweedy’s sweetly scratchy croon, as if a miner has sifted his vocals through a sieve along with the sediment, nicotine and shiny nuggets…” - North County Times

"Chinese Vacation Review"

“Great, bouncy pop… You will NOT get bored of Chinese Vacation for quite some time…” - CelebrityCafe.com

Bio

Steven Joseph Joshua Poltz left his post as an altar boy at SAINT Theresa’s Catholic Church and started writing songs. Perhaps it was the shock of the Desert heat or the trauma of the move from Halifax Nova Scotia.

For some reason he started a band called The Rugburns and began Touring, From Tijuana Mexico to Honalulu to New York City. He painted the Name of St. Joseph’s Catholic school on the side of his Van so cops would leave him alone.

As a boy in PalmSprings he went Trick oR Treating at Liberace’s House and Met Elvis Presley at his private Jet at the Airport. (he still thinks Elvis hugged his 13 year old sister too Long)

After graduating from Univ. of San Diego (Political Science) he started touring and recording.

He went solo in 1998 And released one left Shoe on Mercury Records The Album garnered 3 1/2 stars in Rolling Stone.

Answering Machine is 56 songs all 45 seconds long. Outgoing messages from his home Machine. This is one of Neil Young’s favorite records.
