Experience

2006 Relocated to Ithaca, NY. Private drum instructor at the CSMA and Cornell University. Freelance musician with local jazz groups and Nik and the Nice Guys in Rochester, NY. Also worked for Holland America Cruise Line as a show drummer on the MS Amsterdam.

Post Hurricane-2006. Freelancing with Lisa Lynn, Marc Adams, Johnny Angel, Phil Campo, Tom Fitzpatrick, Jerry Jumanville, Dave Hanson, Leslie Martin, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Sean C, New Libation Orchestra, Vic Sheppard, Ryan Burage, and Chuck Brackman.

2004-Hurricanne Katrina. Freelance Drummer and Percussionist in New Orleans playing jazz and funk primarily with Lisa Lynn, Crazyface, Tom Worrell, Walter Washington, Chubby Carrier, Soul Project, Tom Fitzpatrick, New Orleans Street Beat, Billy Ding and the Hot Wings, Stover, and New Libation Orchestra.

2003-2004. Drummer with Mem Shannon and the Membership. Extensively toured United States and Canada. www.memshannon.com

2002-2003. Resident New Orleans teacher and drummer with several groups in various styles ranging from Latin, rock, blues, funk, and jazz. Played with Otra, David Roe, Larry Ankrum, Clay Windham, New Orleans R&B Ensemble, Slim Nelson, New Orleans Street Beat, and Mem Shannon.

2002. Show band drummer on the Celebrity “Horizon” cruise ship. Affiliate of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

2001. Taught privately in Binghamton and Ithaca, New York. Toured regionally and recorded with Reichlen, Battles, Dobry (RBD).

2000. Participated in the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra and Jazz Band in Los Angeles, CA. Played with Christian McBride, Terrance Blanchard, Jerry Goldsmith, David Sanchez, Carol Kaye, John Clayton and Alex Acuña. www.manciniinstitute.org

1996-2001. Part-time teacher with the Tony Monforte Drum School in Binghamton, New York. Worked with several groups in a variety of musical styles including: jazz, big band, salsa, blues, funk and soul, reggae, and rock. Toured and recorded with rock band Willis.


Education

1996-2000. Received a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies from Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York. Studied privately with: Tony Monforte, Gordon Stout, Robert Bridge, Dean Houck, Greg Fields, Harold Jones, Steve Houghton, Maurice Halton, Steve Brown, and John Vidacovich.

Participated in college percussion ensemble, concert band, orchestra, big band, several musical theatre productions, and classical chamber groups. Arranged and composed for big band, orchestra and small combos.

Received honors as a member of the Pennsylvania All-State Orchestra (1995 and 1996) and was awarded a Pro-Mark™ Honor Roll Award (1996).
