Bio

Steve Jochum singer/songwriter;
Steve is working professional singer/songwriter/musician, from the Cleveland Ohio area. He is the lead singer/guitarist and writer of the hit song, “Funky Poodle” as a member of “The Wild Horses“. The song was a “heat seeker” on the Billboard Charts, and went on to be the biggest regional hit, receiving airplay on 101.7 WMMS, as well as 106.5, and KROC
in L.A., and was included in a compilation CD on Oglio Records, as well as Esquire Records. “Funky Poodle” is on the soundtrack of the Paramount Movie, “You, Me and Dupree”, starring Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson.
As a member of “Wild Horses”, the band was voted the “Number 1” band for 5 years in the Cleveland Area, due mostly to Steve’s writing, singing, and performing ability. Steve has written hundreds of songs, and recorded 2 albums while with the “Horses“, writing most of the tunes.
He released his first solo CD this past summer entitled “Big Zipper”, with Tommy Rich on drums (“Donnie Iris, American Noise“), and Chris DeHaas, (“Odd Girl Out“), and hosted WNCX 98.5 FM morning drive show, and performed on “Fox 8 in the Morning,” to promote his new CD release.
Steve is honored to be included in Deanna Adams book, “Rock n Roll and the Cleveland Connection”, as a major contributor to the N.E. Ohio’s music scene.
He has shared the stage with The Ramones, Southside Johnny, Warren Zevon, The Beach Boys, Michael Stanley, David Johansen, Edwin McCain, and many more.
While a member of “Golden Hall“, he shared the stage with Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Hal Ketchum and many others. He also wrote and recorded a number of songs for this “Warner Brothers” project.
Steve currently performs with his band, “BIG ZIPPER”, and solo/acoustically, and hosts a local blues jam with “the Bad Boys of Blues“.
He is currently recording original material for his upcoming solo/acoustic CD, and new tracks for the 2nd Big Zipper CD, to be released later this year.
