The Steve Smith and Conga J duo are an absolutely one-a-kind duo. First, they're the only duo on the planet that shares birthdays on Christmas Eve. Besides the Capricorn chemistry, both parties are well-faceted, well-experienced, multi-instrumentalists that love doing what they do. You WILL NOT see another duo ANYWHERE that can
bring the energy and the heart and the sound to a song like the Steve Smith and Conga J duo.
Steve Smith and Conga J are very excited about what the future holds. Coined by an enthusiastic fan as "Acoustic, Rock, Lounge". We are incorporating the latest in loop technology and drums. The duo has performed in many bars covering material from the Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, and Allman Brothers - to material from bands like Dave Mathews Band, Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd and Sublime.
INFLUENCES:
Steve Smith loves the music of Bob Marley, Igor Stravinsky, Frank Zappa, Mohavishnu Orchestra, Robert Johnson, Amos Lee, Xavier Rudd, and the Decemberist.
