16 Miles From Our Hometown

Written By: Steve Spires

Setting out for the freedom road tonight
Gonna cross the state line by the morning light
Packing up and leaving this town behind
But only a lonely car I find

Whoa ho ho, Whoa ho ho, Whoa ho ho
Baby, Baby I'm so alone
Whoa ho ho, Whoa ho ho
I can't do this on my own

Well I'm 16 miles from our hometown
And I'm coming back for you
I couldn't leave this town without you
Girl you should be right here too
Sitting in this seat beside me
Looking out into the headlight light
Rolling down this old highway
I know with you it'll all be right
I'm 16 miles from our hometown
And I'm coming back for you

In the middle of this cold midnight drive
We gotta leave right now to get out of this town alive
Oh together baby I know we can win
Let's go tonight baby and begin

Pre-Chorus

Money Lover

Written By: Steve Spires

There's a fine little lady who sure looked good to me
But she's trouble she ain't what she seemed to be
Just listen to my story, I guarantee you will see

I met her down the hall from my room 6703
She seemed like a catch, one even my mother could see
But so sly you'll wanna die when you find out what she did to me

Well we spent the night together, our love was the color of red
But in the morning I woke with a note stuck to my head
Said "I wasn't after you, I was going for your wallet instead!"

Well, Money money she's a money lover
All she doing is working under cover
For her money money she's a money lover
Alright, money money she's a money lover
No honey honey all she wants is money
She's a money money money money lover

Well I thought bad enough she stole my wallet from me
Then I looked around the room and funny what I didn't see
She took the cash I had stashed away, my stereo's gone too, stole my CD's DVD's and my color TV!

Chorus

You know I feel a little sorry for the next girl I should meet
Cuz to avoid the chance of this circumstance to repeat
I'll have a trip wire set up at her feet!

Chorus 2X's

I Don't Ever Wanna See You Cry

Written By: Steve Spires

Never wanna see that look upon your face
When you're crying your eyes out
Over the things he should've said and done
Yeah, I know you've got your doubts

But, baby I'll protect you
From the whole world around you
Yeah baby I'll protect you now

I don't ever wanna see you cry baby
I don't ever wanna see you cry, cry, cry now baby
I don't ever wanna see you cry baby
I don't ever wanna see you cry, cry, cry now baby

I know the world can be a little strange
When you're trying to find you way
Nothing ever seems to turn out right
And there's no one around to say

Hey baby I'll protect you
From the whole world around you
Yeah baby I'll protect you now

Chorus

Hey baby I'll protect you
From the whole world around you
Yeah baby I'll protect you now

Chorus
