Bio

Steve Tannen is a nationally touring performer and songwriter. He was the Grand Prize Winner in both the 2001 Mid-Atlantic and USA Songwriting Competitions; his debut CD, Big Senorita, was named one of Performing Songwriter Magazines "Top 12 Indie Releases of the Year" in 2001. His music has appeared on the WB's TV shows "Party of Five" and "Dawson's Creek."

Born in New York City, Steve grew up in Australia, Canada, and New York. The son of a jazz pianist and the grandson of a magician, he started performing early and learned music at home. Steve spent several years working odd jobs around the U.S., writing, performing, and developing a personal musical style of folk and rock.

In addition to his solo work, Steve is currently a member of two other musical projects: The Tannen Brothers (with brother Greg Tannen), and The Weepies (with collaborator Deb Talan). Steve's second solo CD, "Stopped at a Green Light," was released on September 12, 2003.
