"Rock N Reel (R2 Magazine)"

"****" "Thompson writes idiosyncratic lyrics and clever tunes and has such a preoccupation with death that I didn’t always believe what I heard." "A model of clarity, smooth and uncluttered" "A very impressive debut." - Dai Jeffries

"MUSIC-NEWS.COM"

"****" "Singing like early Neil Young, he sings with the duplicity of emotional seriousness and grins to the punch line only you know." "Blabbermouth has an easy clean sound. Each song on the album is crafted by a person living in the real world that invites everyone to explore and gives time to think on. - K W Wan

"Musicmaker"

"Clear vocals, well written. Musical arrangements compliment Blabber’s songs and use throughout of a banjo sits well in the mix." "Good sympathetic balances and nicely produced throughout." - Paul Brett

"Living Tradition"

"It can be a refreshing change these days to encounter a humourous singer-songwriter whose material doesn’t shout DERIVITIVE at the listener" - Grem Devlin

Bio

Steve Thompson – aka Blabbermouth - grew up on the South Coast of England.

Turning solo in 2006, Blabbermouth combines smart, at times pithy, lyrics, with tender folk arrangements.

In 2008 Hobgoblin Records released the debut album, “Blabbermouth - My Dancing Heart”, which received excellent reviews.

The success of the album led to a series of festival appearances including with Seth Lakeman at The Crawley Folk Festival and
Show of Hands at The Wadebridge Folk Festival.

Last summer Steve toured round the waterways of the grand union canal on his 45ft Narrowboat, stopping off to record sessions and interviews; securing airplay on radio stations including Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 show.
