Bio

Transplanted to Texas from Southern California before his feet ever hit the ground, Steve has lived his life in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He got his first guitar at the age of 8. Influence by his banjo playing Grandfather and big band sounds which echoed throughout his parents home, Steve has brought together his love for country with the music which inspired him at a young age. He began playing and singing in a country band at the age of 21 and at 26, he was given the opportunity to work as backup vocalist and acoustic guitar player for country great Mark Chestnutt where he stayed for two and a half years. Following his years with Mark, he worked for Pam Tillis ofr an additional year. Prompted by his desire to make music "his way" he left the road and formed RCM Records in 1999/2000. In 2001 he was approached by Rudy Fernadez of KEAN 105 in Abilene,TX who asked him to write a song to benefit the children of St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He collabora ted with his long time friend and artist Royal Wade kimes and Penned " flower in the Wind". the song has been used for St. jude fund-raising events across the country and is still being used today. Currently, he is promoting the first single " Your Old Stomping Ground" off of his self titled album on RCM Records. The album won "Album Of The Year 2001" at the Terry Awards in Arlington,TX. Steve's music is heard in regular rotation on radio stations across the southwest region including 99.5 "The Wolf" in Dallas/Ft. Worth on the "Front Porch Show" with Justin Frizzell. Steve is supported and encourage by many major-label artist friends who know how difficult it can be to succeed as a independent artist. Steve plans to join them as often as possible with his own live show tour. Keep an eye out for a show near you, your sure to be entertained.
