Two time HMA Award Winner with eight #1 songs - Grammy selected and Dove Award selected as well as the 5th most played international artist. I owe all my success to God as I merely pushed the pencil as He whispered the words!

Biography

"From the age of sixteen I have had a passion for writing and performing music. I suppose having gifted parents with the same interest did not hurt.

I wrote my first commercial song when I was eighteen titled Glenda. A soft ballad that was picked up by a pop artist. Being young and inexperienced, I never received credit for the song. I did, however, learn a lesson about acting on impulse!

I enjoy writing Country and Gospel music though my roots are rock and roll.

My inspirations are Tim McGraw, George Strait and Brad Paisley.

I have managed eight number one songs internationally.

I would like to continue performing but would also like to write for established country and gospel performers.

My music can be purchased through all major digital distributors

Shoe Box

Written By: Steve Zuwala

In my closet on a shelf
There’s an old shoebox
It’s filled with old memories and not much else

There’s photographs and letters
A few remember whens
That I find myself reading over and over again

And though you’re not with me
I can relive history
In every letter every I love you is circled in red
I’ve got ticket stubs from every movie that we’ve seen
And the rose that you gave me
The one you picked from your momma’s flower bed
The day we met

I really should’ve moved on
A long time ago
But when it comes to you
You know I never was that strong

No matter how far away you are or where I am
Inside this here old show box we’re still lovers and friends

And though you’re not with me
I can relive history
I’ve got every card with your name signed in hearts
But the memory that I forget the most
Is the “dear John letter that I keep closed
And baby I can’t help but wonder where you are

And though you’re with someone else not me
I can still relive history
In every letter every I love you is circled in red
I’ve got ticket stubs from every movie that we’ve seen
And the rose that you gave me
The one you picked from your momma’s flower bed
The day we met

Tough Guys

Tough Guys
Music and Lyrics by Steve Zuwala

Papa was a big man
Born in the wetlands
Huntin’ gator in the black bayou

There wasn’t a braver man a live
He stood six five
And his shadow eclipsed the moon

I’ve never seen him cry ‘cept when mama died
That night I found him on his knees
He prayed Lord up above help me raise my son
Since she’s gone he has only me

But I said:
Papa you’re a big man the devil picked the wrong man
You’ll beat him black and blue
He said son understand it’s not the size of the man that determines what he can do
True strengths from within son you can’t always win
But in the long run the strong ones do
But tough guys need Jesus too

Papa’s long gone I’ve got a boy of my own
And he thinks I hung the moon
When he looks up at me
I believe I see
What I saw in my daddy too
He’s chip off the old block
Born of good stock
But tough ain’t good enough
So I teach him to pray just the way
His grandpa tough me to do

And when he says:
Papa you’re a big man the devil picked the wrong man
You’ll beat him black and blue
I say son understand it’s not the size of the man that determines what he can do
True strengths from within son you can’t always win
But in the long run the strong ones do
But tough guys need Jesus too

Truck drivers, steel workers, coal miners, School teachers,
The fireman who pull you from the flames
They make it look easy but son believe me
When they need strength they pray
Tough guys need Jesus too…

Toes in the Sand

Written By: Steve Zuwala

I've got my toes in the sand
a cool drink in my hand
I'm watchin' sunset on the beach

I'm swayin' to a soft warm breeze
And hummin' Hawaiian melodies
And the locals say "Aloha. Mahalo, you're such a lucky fellow"
I smile and say "there really ain't nothin to to it.
"its rough but I'll get through it
"somebody's gotta do it
"it might as well be me"

Its been well over a month
Since I left for the sun
Leaving LA to the rain
I put off my boss
My friend feeds my dog
But that could change any day

Tonight there's a lua, and a hula
Out on Polo Beach
Where I'll sleep under the stars
Wake with the sun
To do it all again
But no worries
'cause there really ain't nothin' to it
It's rough but I'll get through it
Hey somebody's gottta do it
It might as well be me

there really ain't nothin' to it
It's rough but I'll get through it
Hey somebody's gottta do it
It might as well be me

Heaven Knows

Heaven Knows
Lyrics and music by Steve Zuwala
BMI Reg. 6869335

Papa said “boy life’s a chore
With up hill climbs and distant shores
Long lost treasures you may never find
And days that drive you clear out of your mind
But there’s a bit of heaven in all that you do

He said, “ remember son when life goes bad
It’s the devil boy its part of his plan
Just weather the storm and wait for the sun
When everything is said and done
You’ll find heaven – is waitin’ on you

Cause
Heaven knows
Life’s a long hard road
And heaven knows
We’re not alone
So when we reach
That fork in the road
We can look to heaven
‘cause heaven knows

Well it’s true
Papa was right
I’ve had my share of sleepless nights
I work and worry never gainin’ ground
Heck I can’t take it with me anyhow
Waitin’ in heaven – is all that I need

Heaven knows
Life’s a long hard road
And heaven knows
We’re not alone
So when we reach
That fork in the road
We can look to heaven
‘cause heaven knows

So Help Me God

Written By: Steve Zuwala

Lord there you are
You're high above me
beyond the stars
when You look at me
are You disappointed
do I break Your heart

I know I've strayed Lord and I've done some things
that a man's just not proud of
But if You're listenin
and I'm forgiven Lord I'll change
So Help Me God

Lord I'm on my knees
and I'm askin'
Would You please
Take this troubled man
and help me
be what she needs

'Cause she deserves better than where I've been
and expects more than I am
So if You're listenin'
and I'm forgiven
I'll change so help me God

I know what I'm asking
and expecting Lord
is more than I deserve
but then you know what I need long before I do
could this be why
You sent me her

Lord I've strayed and I've done some things
that a man's just not proud of
But if You're listenin
and I'm forgiven Lord I'll change
So Help Me God

Lord if You're listenin
and I'm forgiven Lord I'll change
So Help Me God

Good as Gone

Written By: Steve Zuwala

Girl I can't get used to
These nights alone
Or the sounds of silence
that fills our home
your coats there
its hangin' over the chair
next to your keys and your cell phone
So i know you're home

Girl we share the same roof
but baby your as good as gone

When your lyin' beside me
You're still miles away
and it feels like goodbye to me
might be be any day

I see the signs still I don't know why
you say you love me when I know
You don't
Girl we share the same bed
but baby - you're as good as gone

Tonight we're dancing cheek to cheek
you've got your arms around me
I know you're mine for as long as this song
I pray it goes on and on and on and on
cause I know - if I let you go - you're as good as gone
So I won't let you go cause I know -
Your as good as gone
