Biography

Stewart John has been involved with some avenue of music his whole life. Born and raised in Lincoln, NE, Stewart cut his musical teeth in an area that is best known for 311, Saddle Creek Records, and Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. In 2004 he began writing and performing his own original works while performing with other local acts and groups at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. This allowed him the opportunity to tour the Midwest and gain crucial stage experience. However, Stewart left these behind in 2007 to pursue his own music.

Stewart released his first full-length album, ON THE INSIDE, in 2009 and continued to perform throughout Nebraska for the next year. In the summer of 2010 he relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in further pursuit of his music career.

Through his personal life experiences, Stewart paints a picture that any audience can relate to. Fans have termed his music as “guitar-pop” resulting from the blend of pop vocals with blues/rock guitar.

In his debut album, ON THE INSIDE, Stewart John exemplifies his abilities as a singer, songwriter and artist. His emotion and passion for the art of music can be heard throughout each of the album’s ten tracks. ON THE INSIDE was brought to life at Power Base Studios located in the prairies of northeast Nebraska.

Released during the spring of 2009, the album is a well-rounded compilation of Stewart’s strengths as an artist. Each song’s heartfelt lyrics are supported by an interwoven collage of catchy melodies and superb harmonies which are tied together with the musical edge of carefully placed guitar leads.
