Stew Brennand

I grew up in the fifties and sixties when the radios were filled with the traditional jazz crooners, big bands, brand new Rock'n'Roll and,my personal favourite, the folk revvalists with the new phenomena of the single Singer-Songwriter. Story telling , whether from the folk group The Kingston Trio, country legend Marty Robbins or the casual crooner Perry Como was paramount. That led to influences from Oscar Brand, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson and many other vocalists with only a single guitar for backup. My finger style guitar and powerful vocals try to capture all that these balladeers had to offer.
