Fish No More

Written By: Drew Parrott

Fish no More by Drew Parrott

Eyes cast down their faces pale
Tired of setting sail
Each day to no avail

Returning home again from sea
A tired crew of three
A ship named misery

The captain said, “Men we will fish no more.”
Let’s go home and live our lives on shore
We have no catch from the night before
The captain said, “Men we will fish no more.”

A crowd was crowding on the sand
When the fishermen reached land
A crowd around one man

The man said, “May I climb aboard?”
The crowd keeps pushing forward
I need to leave the shore

The captain said, “Sir we will fish no more.”
We just came back to live our lives on shore
We have no catch from the night before
The captain said, “Sir we will fish no more.”

Cast your nets into the deep said the man to the fishers three
It will not be the same as before
The captain said the fishing’s slow, if you were here last night you’d know
But I guess we’ll try our luck just once more

They pulled the nets up to the side
And could not believe their eyes
There were fish piled up high

Man how can this be?
A master of the sea
We will follow thee

The captain said, “Sir we will fish no more.”
To follow you would mean so much more
The captain said, “Sir we will fish no more.”
The captain said, “Sir we will fish no more.”

Rockin' Chair

Written By: Drew Parrott

She’s moving to and from
One to another place
And she plays the toms, but always
Never to your face

He’s moving here and there
And then another year
And he plays the snare, that she
Gave to him last year

And its one to another place, when you’re
Moving here and there
To the beat of a steady pace
Rockin’ like a chair

They’re moving side to side
Making time and cash
Tapping on the ride, and then
Landing on the crash

And its one to another place, when you’re
Moving here and there
To the beat of a steady pace
Rockin’ like a chair

Now they’re here to stay
At least that’s what she said
Counting all the pay, from the
Hat that’s on his head

And its one to another place, when you’re
Moving here and there
To the beat of a steady pace, just like
Rocking in a chair

Rose

Written By: Drew Parrott

I was eating cereal, then I put on my clothes
Was a rainy day, so I grabbed my wallet
Crying outside was a girl named rose
With a feeling knowing not what to call it

“Must be here”, said the pauper,
A season one hour ahead
She was crying so I tried to stop her
But her prince was already dead

I packed my things, and turned on the tv
And realized some things I take for granted
Wealth had died, cause he could not be
Content without so bad that he could not stand it
