Each member of this band, all of whom live together today as a makeshift “family” in a double wide in L.A.’s infamous and inspirational Topanga Canyon, brings his own unique musical style and personal history to the creative process. All of them had been involved in numerous musical projects before coming together as a band. The band was ultimately formed when Mason got canned from his job on New Year’s Eve, and David, Darius, and Rod drove to Northern California, picked him up, and brought him down to L.A.
That was it. Once they came together for their first real jam session, it lasted 10 hours and was an improvisational explosion and spiritual connection that initiated the creation of their first record, “You Is I.” David, Mason, Darius, and Rod have always felt a connection to the magical, freestyle jamming that is a big part of Still Chaos’s “romantic punk” sound, and they have committed their lives to reaching as many people as possible.
For the last year and a half Still Chaos has been playing live shows locally in Los Angeles and focusing on the direction in which the band is headed: to begin touring the world playing live shows and putting together their second record.
