"Still the Sky's Limit - Show Review, House of Blues, Anaheim 4/29"

Still the Sky’s Limit is a 3 piece band based out of Orange County, California. They have a rapidly growing fanbase and have played many of the major venues in the LA/Orange County area along with a West Coast tour and stops at South by Southwest. This past weekend was no exception as they brought their talents to the House of Blues in Anaheim.

With their infectious blend of Alternative and Pop Punk, they caught the crowd and had them cheering throughout their set. Singer/guitaritst John Barthelmass and bassist Paul Schaubec did not let up as they were hard to catch going back, forth, and all around the stage keeping the energy level at maximum. Drummer Aaron Kramer wasn’t left out of the fun as even he would get up from his drum set and rally the troops, not to mention do a little bit of vocals on one song.

Crowd participation was very much emphasized as Barthelmass held up cue cards for the crowd to sing along for one of the choruses. A lot of clapping was also used throughout the set, but the audience didn’t seem to mind as it kept them as a part of the show. The band in general gave out a very fun vibe on stage, which is something that is missing from many bands performances these days. STSL seems to know that it takes more than just singing songs to make a memorable show. It really goes to show that you can have that musical passion and deep feelings for your songs, but you can have fun and make it fun for everyone.

However, STSL isn’t just all high-energy showmanship. They are all very capable and dedicated musicians who truly love what they do. It came across very well in their performance. The music is very reminiscent of bands you would hear on the local rock station or even the Vans Warped Tour in the late 90s and early-mid 2000s (in a good way). STSL shows that there can still be a balanced blend of great musicianship and fun.

Still the Sky’s Limit will be playing various dates throughout the OC/LA area in the month of May and their latest album “Why Not?” is available on iTunes and at the band’s website. - Flash Flood Media

"Still the Sky's Limit - Show Review: Mar 1, House of Blues Anaheim"

First, a few words about their performance...I shall start with "Outstanding!" Still the Sky's Limit is a tongue-in-cheek, good time, Alterntative/Rock/Punk/Pop band that engages the crowd with enthusiasm and humor (including flashing cue cards to help the audience sing a chorus with them). Being an old skool Muppets fan and owning a "Animal" tee shirt, I especially liked the Animal heads atop three of the cymbal stands. I won't call Still the Sky's Limit a "Party" band because that would unfairly pigeon hole them. I will say this is a band you can have a good time and party with. I must also say they had an impressive crowd to party with this night!

"Still the Sky's Limit - Why Not?"

Still The Sky's Limit was a side project that guitarist/back up vocalist Johnny B thought up but now the project is in full bloom and on the fore front of the rock n' roll scene. These Orange County, California locals got what they wanted to do in order and from there began to write and make music which leadto the release of their debut EP "Last Chance Past" with that they went on to perform and write even more material that would end up being on their debut LP "Why Not?" released before the end of this year ran out.

They source of still brings to mind Green Day meets Simple Plan and Good Charlotte except their earlier works being more pop punk based than their current material. Either way "Why Not?" delivers a solid punk rock attitude with an agressive twist that truly delivers that rock n' roll feel. The lyrics are catchy and really flow with the groove of the music. While the guitar and drumming is head on with each and every note.

These modern day rockstars are surly to be the next best thing to ever hit the rock n' roll scene in quite sometime. - Natalie's World

Bio

Still The Sky's Limit brings its lyrically-charged, energy-laden brand of rock music to the forefront of the world's stage with a passion and fervor most only make believe and dream of. That passion coupled with the producing talent & power of Erik Ron (Panic! At the Disco, Saosin, Foxy Shazam, Allstar Weekend) has brought forth the EP "Legacy"; a blend of powerful instrumentals, lyrical intensity, and raw emotion.

This debut EP comes as a true first step for the Orange County, California based band, which came together in mid-2010; is powered by founding members Johnny b. (guitar/vocals) and Aaron Kramer (drums). Carrying the strength of a multitude of powerfully impassioned songs, the band spent the next two years shuffling through a bevy of great friends sharing the stage and filling out the lineup. Having spent this time period going through the growing pains of a young band, while recording several demos and dealing with the constant flux of lineup changes, Still The Sky's Limit have finally settled into long-time friend and bass/guitar player Josh West to round out the lineup. The band spent the second half of 2012 as a 3-piece honing their collective skills, and during the final months of 2012 called upon producer Erik Ron to record the 5 song EP, "Legacy"; to be released early 2013. The next year will see not only the release of the album but also a constant flurry of touring and music videos to accompany the release.
