StilRize is a rarity in today's music climate. A mix of not only just straight ahead rock, but acoustically based, well crafted harmonies and songriting, great hooks, and some thoughtful lyrics gives your ears a lot more to listen to and enjoy. A very different band in means of giving you a variety of sound, and song. -

"Getting to know Stilrize"

How did you form?

My brother Dan and I (Sean) had always loved music and tried getting a band together back when we were in High school. Nobody was ever serious or loved music the way we did. Resulting in us going through tons and tons of bands/members. Eventually we found Andrew our current singer at Daddys Junky Music. They were hosting a musician network night. When we found Andrew he actually joined the band as our drummer and we had no Idea he could sing until one day he was begging us to let him sing back up. Long story short he sang way better than our current singer at the time so he eventually took over the spot as our singer. This left us with 3 band members so we were either going to find another singer who was as good as Andrew or find a drummer. Our current manager knew Mike who happened to be his neighbor. We tried him out and I believe the first time we played together we wrote two songs. Since then Stilrize formed.

Who are some of your influences?

Staind, Shinedown, 3 Doors Down, Creed, Nickelback to bands of the past such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Creedence Clearwater Revival

Finish the sentence, someone would like your band if they like...

...Rock/Pop Rock

What has your most memorable moment as a band been?

Going out to Long Island, New York to perform live on the radio and open up for Anna Nalick later that night.

Walk us through your songwriting process...

It usually starts with me. I will come up with a guitar riff that I think is catchy. I then bring it to Andrew and who then free styles a vocal melody to it. When we have an idea that we feel is sounding pretty good we then bring to the band. Dan will come up with his bass line and mike with come up with the beat. At this point we throw around ideas of what could change or be arranged to make it sound better. There is also instances where we just jam to a song on the spot and in those cases usually we can write a song right off the bat because we just feel it. Those instances the songs usually ends up coming out really good.

Who is the best musician in your band?

I would have to say were all pretty much equal. We all have our weaknesses and strong points as does anyone but together we have a chemistry that works extremely well.

What is your favorite local venue?

The House of Blues was the best place we have played locally.

What separates you from other local bands?

I believe that our song writing ability is what separates us. We have almost 30 original songs. With every song we have written we have continuously progressed. We just recently got out of the studio after recording 4 brand new songs that are on another level from anything we have ever written. Also our lyrics are all 100% real. They are written about instances either we personally have gone through or someone close to us has.

What do you have coming up that people should know about?

Coming soon on our website "" we will be releasing 4 brand new songs one of which we just posted. Also our next show in Boston which is at Olivers Nightclub at the Cask'n Flagon on August 14.

Convince our readers to see your next show.

We are a dedicated band from Boston thats pouring every ounce of our hearts into making our dreams come true. We love to meet and thank anyone that comes out and supports us. We appreciate it more than words can describe. If you like bands like Nickelback, Staind, Shinedown, 3 Doors Down then please just give us a chance go to our website and listen to what were all about. We promise that live we're as good as our CD if not better with the energy we put out. Thanks.

The rock group "StilrizE" includes four members. All members are located from outside of Boston, MA. Members include Andrew Deprey, Sean Timmins, Mike Ciardi and Dan Timmins.

The band's main goal with the songs they create is to have something that everyone can relate to. The lyrics are as real as you can get. The vocals are covered in passion, and heart. The melodic guitars compliment the vocals intelligently. The beats top off each song with talented, and driven drumming patterns. If you were to listen to a StilrizE album through its entirety, you would find songs that rock you out of your seat with heavy guitar, and catchy vocals, you would find driven/melodic songs, and you would find songs stripped down to an acoustic vibe to show off a little of their lighter side. Stilrize tries to stay away from sounding the same throughout an album, or with every song that they write.

With each song Stilrize creates, it just seems to keep on getting bigger, and better than the last. The band wants to reach out to the world with the stories, and melodies that are in their material, and never look back!
