70's influenced Disco rock with Easy Listening California melodies and quirky nuances of European Pop

Biography

Country clubs, Yachts on a Marina in Cannes, Bluebirds, Champagne, a box of Swiss chocolates, your prized romantic novel, dancing with strappy vintage Disco heels, this is the Stimulator lifestyle and they want to share it with you.

Take the groove and essence of classic Disco, mix it with Easy Listening California melodies and add quirky nuances of European Pop and you have the ingredients for Stimulator’s second album - Stimulator 2.

“The whole concept of Stimulator is about celebrating life. I wanted the music on this new album to capture the feeling of being on vacation,” Susan dreamily says.

This musical trio consists of singer/songwriter Susan Hyatt (Pillbox), drummer extraordinaire Chad Stewart (Faster Pussycat/Motochrist/Gilby Clarke) and bassist Sean Tichenor (James Angell/King Black Acid).

The band enjoyed success touring with childhood heroes Duran Duran, the Go-Go’s, Missing Persons, Berlin. Songs were licensed to TV shows such as NBC’s “Las Vegas,” MTVs “Real World,” the Disney Film “Ella Enchanted.” Stimulator’s song “Let’s Hook Up’ was the theme song for E Entertainment’s “50 Hottest Hollywood Hook-ups.”

All accomplished musicians, Stimulator recorded their debut album in former guitar player Geoff Tyson’s bedroom. Their first single “78’ Stimulator” was released on the Org Singles Club UK label. Kevin Lyman handpicked the band to play the WARPED Tour after hearing their song “On Top of the World” had won the Best Rock Song in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. The band did brave and unpredictable covers such as Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” for Canada and Olivia Newton John’s “Magic” for special Australian releases. Their animated/live action video for “Magic” featured a cameo by singer Cherie Curry from the classic all girl rock group the Runaways. Shortly the band were signed to the LAB/Universal Records; but soon after opening Duran Duran’s 2005’ “Astronaut Tour,” their record label became defunct and the band took a break.

Susan took the time to work on more songwriting as she embarked on an extensive solo tour in Japan. “I became fascinated with the live house scene in Kyoto and my love for classic rock emerged. I started listening to songs from 70’s AM Radio.” It was there where she wrote the songs that came to be - Stimulator 2. “It was time to get real. We dropped the fancy production. I wanted a more organic sound.”

As a well-known former VJ on the UK’s MP3TV, and having run her own European indie record label, Susan naturally embraces the challenges before her. With no money, no record label, she reached out directly to the fans and asked for help to finance the album. The result is an album made purely from the generosity, loyalty and faith of fans. Stimulator recruited Steve Sidelnyk (Madonna/Seal) on percussion, Monte Pittman (Madonna) on guitar and Jeremy Ruzumna on keyboards (Macy Gray) to help complete the new sound.

It’s the sound of Summer, the feeling of freedom on a day where you have nothing to do but philosophize about the world. You can go anywhere and be anything. It’s sprinklers when you need to get wet, it’s the suburbs when the city gets too much. Its sweet sleep and the comfort of being lazy. It’s the cobble-stoned streets of Paris and the charm of ancient Kyoto. It’s PCH driving with the top down with the warm wind blowing your Marcia Brady hair. Most of all - it’s Home - new but familiar.

In the age of technology, where anyone can make music, Stimulator relies on sheer musicality. With style, grace and substance Stimulator makes classic songwriting fashionable in the 21st century. With this new fresh album Stimulator has created their own unique blend of pure sophisticated Rock n’Roll.

So break out the bubbly, blast your new sparkly Stimulator 2 CD, close your eyes and boogie until the sun sets - doesn’t it feel like love?

Holiday

Written By: Susan Hyatt

Happiness is here today
Listen to the birds
You can taste it in the sea
Such a lovely day to be lazy

There's no mountain to climb
We can get drunk on wine

We're in Love cuz we're on Holiday
We can't go wrong, if we make the same mistake
Don't want to settle down and let the fashion change, (lose our place in the shade)
We're in love when We're on Holiday
We're on Holiday,

Happiness is here to stay
a whisper in the air, and champagne on the yacht
Such a simple way that we're sailing, I'm like putty why don't you shape me

Got no mountain to climb
We can get drunk on wine, so let's waste some more time,

We're in Love cuz we're on Holiday
We can't go wrong, if we make the same mistake
Don't want to settle down and let the fashion change
We're in love when We're on Holiday
We're on Holiday,

LA LA LA LA LA
Happiness is here today, happiness is here to stay.

THE WEEKS PASS AND WE CAN’T FORGET
HOW CAN WE BE SO LOST?
YOU WANNA BREAK ME I GOT NO DEFENSE
THE TRAGEDY LIES IN YOUR HEART

AEROPLANES FLY ACROSS THE PARK
BOYS PLAYING CRICKET, A DOG SHOW’S ABOUT TO START
I SEE 100 RAINBOWS, BUT IF I CAN’T SEE YOUR HEART
WHAT’S THE USE?

YOU & ME WE LOVE LIKE WE’RE IN A FRENCH CINEMA
YOU & ME WE DIE LIKE WE’RE IN A FRENCH CINEMA

HE SAID PLEASE DON’T LET ME GO, AH AH
I WON’T LET YOU GO
NO NO NO
HE SAID PLEASE DON’T LET ME GO, AH AH
I WON’T LET YOU GO
GO GO GO

VERSE 3 IN FRENCH
THE WEEKS PASS AND YOU CAN’T FORGET
HOW CAN YOU WE BE SO LOST?
I WANNA BREAK YOU, IT’S NOT OVER YET
A TRAGEDY LIES IN YOUR ARMS

YOU & ME WE LOVE LIKE WE’RE IN A FRENCH CINEMA
YOU & ME WE DIE LIKE WE’RE IN A FRENCH CINEMA

HE SAID PLEASE DON’T LET ME GO, AH AH
I WON’T LET YOU GO
NO NO NO
HE SAID PLEASE DON’T LET ME GO
I WON’T LET YOU GO
NO NO NO

AEROPLANES FLY ACROSS THE PARK
BOYS PLAYING CRICKET, IF TIME COULD ONLY STOP
I GAVE AWAY MY SUNSHINE SO WE COULD FALL IN LOVE AGAIN

YOU & ME WE LOVE LIKE WE’RE IN A FRENCH CINEMA
YOU & ME WE DIE LIKE WE’RE IN A FRENCH CINEMA

HE SAID PLEASE DON’T LET ME GO, AH AH
I WON’T LET YOU GO
NO NO NO
HE SAID PLEASE DON’T LET ME GO
BUT I JUST LET HIM GO, GO GO

You wake up electrified and mystified
Only to find out everybody talks suicide
You got the gift so you just can't quit

And When Your revolution is on a sinking ship
you make it look easy boy I just wish
You never look down, down
No we never hit the ground

If I could rock with you, and you were my man
(the sun would always shine, all the stars align)
I wanna rock with you
(All the world's a stage, everyday the seasons change)
When I rock with you

You and me we don't hide the misty eyes
I can see the world right through your smile
You are a phantom who almost hit

And it's alright if we don't win
What could be is what you miss
you just want to fly, so we fly, you know we can, hit the sky

If I could rock with you, and you were my man
(the sun would always shine, all the stars align)
I wanna rock with you
(All the world's a stage, everyday the seasons change)
When I rock with you

I want you cuz I know that, You’re the One I can’t Have
I can’t Have You

You are the perfect mistake, my heart has taken over my Head
Our silhouette’s Russian roulette
You love the Hunt I play the game

Baby I’m Bold but you’re not shy
I am born from your design
You can write your own rhyme, la la la la

I want you cuz I know that, You’re the One I can’t Have
I can’t Have You

You are delicious, and for the take
Got inspiration, we both need the fame
You’re tempting me with frequency
I’m on the hunt, you’re the prey

Baby I’m bored, I need a show
Don’t tell me you’ve seen it all
When there’s no news at 8, la la la la

I want you cuz I know that, You’re the One I can’t Have
I can’t Have You

You could want me, you could want me

Gentlemen Prefer Polaroids

Written By: Susan Hyatt

Where are you running to?
Will I run into you on the streets of London?
It stopped raining today
I heard somebody say you live around here

You said I was Beautiful
One Day We'd have it all
And if we were Movie Stars
We wouldn't let the moment fake us now

I took a photograph
You stole a piece of my life
Darling why did you fade to Black?
He said “Gentlemen prefer Polaroids”

The flowers and applause
You couldn’t see the Stars
Standing in the Front Row

I heard your name before
The girl who wants the world
But you don’t know who you are

You said I was Beautiful
I found myself lost for words
And we felt like Movie Stars
How could we let our moment die?

You took a photograph
Why is it such a crime?
Darling you knew it couldn’t last
And “Gentlemen prefer Polaroids”
We took a photograph
You stole a piece of my life
Darling why did you Fade to Black?
Gentlemen prefer Polaroids
