"Meet STINTS"

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Brambila, Ruben Agundez, Ernie Vasquez, Gera Zuñiga, Adrian Valenzuela and Eli Ponce.

Stints is an alternative indie band that started at the end of 2018. Most of the band members were already friends or were previously together in the band Minor Gems, and when that project ended, Stints was born. Since everyone already knew each other, it was easy to start creating music right away, either from previously unfinished tracks or brandnew ideas. In early 2019, the first recording sessions began to take place and by late 2019, our first single “19” was released on all digital platforms. At this point the band also shifted from recording towards live performances and the year ended with performances at local venues like Soda Bar and Kensington Club. By the beginning of 2020, the band had released a few singles and B-sides like “Same Thoughts, Same Words, Same Feelings” and “Hold Me.” We also had our first and only performance of this year at Diablito’s in Tijuana. A little before the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, a handful of us decided to move in together to have more time to work on our music and recordings. We have been lucky enough to be able to continue recording since we mostly live together and through working remotely with our drummer, Eli, who is in Tijuana. At this point we are all but finished tracking our full length debut album, and should be releasing it this Fall along with a new a single, “It Won’t Take Very Long” which was released on July 9, 2020. - SD Voyager

"STINTS - Highlight of the Week"

Neo-psychedelic indie rock band Stints were founded in 2018 right here in San Diego by Rubén Agúndez (Vocals), Elí Ponce Gastelum (Percussion/Production), Gerardo Zuñiga (Bass), José Brambila (Guitar), Ernesto Vásquez (Guitar), and Adrian Valenzuela (Synths).

They’re well-known for their distinctive dream-pop melodies with hypnotic orchestral mash-ups in the underground scenes on both sides of the border, especially for their music videos, sporting dark textures that flirt with disturbing nostalgia. With a full album release planned in addition to touring both in the US and Mexico, 2020 will mark an epic year of creative fury for Stints. Their latest singles “Hold Me” is out everywhere now - ListenSD

Bio

STINTS is a neo-psychedelic indie rock band from San Diego, California. Founded in 2018 by Rubén Agúndez (Vocals), Elí Ponce Gastelum (Percussion/Production), Gerardo Zuñiga (Bass), José Brambila (Guitar), Ernesto Vásquez (Guitar), and Adrian Valenzuela (Synths), the six founding members collaborate equally in the composition of their distinctive dreampop melodies with hypnotic orchestral mash-ups.

The band’s first releases: 19 (single), Restless Feeling (b-side), and Same Thoughts, Same Words, Same Feelings (single), disrupted the underground indie scene on both sides of the US/Mexican border.

Ever-evolving and exploring, STINTS invites their cult following into dark textures in both sound and visuals with music videos that flirt with disturbing nostalgia.

STINTS is perfectly positioned to emerge as the most influential neo-psychedelic indie band on both sides of the border. With a full album release planned in addition to US and Mexico, 2020 will mark an epic year of creative fury for Stints.
