"89/100: Rocked us so hard we peed our pants!"

"They kick some serious ass with their straight-forward take on hard-driving rock 'n' roll. Much like their Canadian forefathers in Big Sugar, Wide Mouth Mason and The Trews, they fiddle a bit with the blues and mix things up with strong vocals, loud guitars and simple, focused melodies."

Cameron Gordon - Chart Attack Magazine

"Jack FM 92.3"

“ I was listening to this 5 cut cd and kept losing track of time. I like to listen to stuff on a set of small, cheap speakers first to get a feel for the mix. Then I plug it into the car system and go driving. On the small system you did good . In the car I missed my turn twice, and almost got pulled over once. You guys have captured the energy I felt when listening to you live . By the way you can't have the disc back , it's mine and that's all there is to say
about that.” - Wayne Cavanagh — Operations Manager

Bio

This accidentally talented 5-some united in a run down three story red brick dump. Playing honest grown-up garage-rock with song appeal for the fist-pumper, band-wagon jumper AND the unemployed enthusiast. The band has a sound that doesn't change with the top 40 hits of the month and they deliver hard working, punching the clock rock and roll with a touch of stay at home sick blues.

In 2006, SJM won a $50,000 development grant from New Cap radio, thus, giving them the fuel needed to record their first full length album, tour Canada and share the bill with the likes of Sloan, the Trews, Thornley and even Kardinal Official. Since the independent release of their self titled debut — it has gone on to sell more than 1,500 copies off-stage alone and songs have been featured in television and film. This band is independently driven with an appetite to chew more than they bite and come back for seconds.

With a wide array of musical influences, they have been described as “a more polished Cold War Kids” and a “contemporary Black Sabbath.... If they were actually black”. Their focus is on strong vocals with a unique cadence, loud riff-driven guitars and simple focused melodies. The truth told, there are no music genres that aren’t channeled in some small way by SJM. Their live show is loud, enthusiastic and has yet to disappoint an audience. As the band prepares for its sophomore album with tour dates across Canada, St Joe's Mission continues their pledge to keep it so dope you’ll wanna smoke it.
