"L’ART DE LA MUSIQUE"

"What touched me particularly, was their 'group spirit' and a common passion amongst them" (Translated)

- Indie Blender

"5 Great Montreal Bands You Don't Know"

"If you’re experiencing a lack of the feels, this band is likely to set you right; their sets are emotional rollercoasters, if you’re at all attuned to the struggles of twenty-something artists/writers/musicians struggling to survive. They pull you in, and they squeeze some tears out of you before they let go." - Nexopia

"Wishing You a Happy Ragnarok"

"By the end, I was shaking."

"I hadn’t heard something that made me feel HOME in such a long time."

I’ll admit, the first musical act took a while to warm up to. The St Lawrence Warehouse Company is a multi-piece outfit consisting of (but not limited to) guitar, flute, violin, accordion and the ukelele. They play a pleasing and comforting collection of folk-pop in a passionate, jangly style. I nodded along, appreciating it, but nothing could have prepared me for their final song: a love song written for two metro stations, about loving Montréal in all its beauty and dysfunction.

"And if we were stations, then I would be Lionel-Groulx
We stand apart, dear, but so much flows from me to you…" (lyrics from a song "Berri-UQAM")

By the end, I was shaking. I’ve been living here for a year and a half. Loving life here has been harder than I’d expected. I hadn’t heard something that made me feel HOME in such a long time. I haven’t been singing much lately, but my voice rose in awkward harmonies for their final chorus, and as it ended they held each other on stage, and the audience erupted into whoops and hollers. My eyes were wet. I couldn’t applaud hard enough. - The Court Digital

Our Story

St. Lawrence Warehouse Company is a musical collective whose dedication to genuine storytelling is building momentum in and around their current homebase of MontrealHailing from all across Canada, their urban folk sound is shaped by experimental elements, Canadian lyrical themes, world music influences and soul-charging singalongs. The group creates an intimate and cathartic space for audiences during their performances as well as on their first album, The Grateful EP

Their unique instrumentation, including saxophone, violin, accordion and sometimes haunting-sometimes wholesome vocal harmonies result in the breaking down of conventional boundaries between stage and audience. Listeners leave with a feeling of old merging with new, folk with city, and the community that is at the heart of St. Lawrence Warehouse Company.

We are currently looking for festivals to schedule a tour around in Summer 2015.
