Bio
As the lines between Hip-Hop and Gospel continue to be blurred, the next injection of style that will further narrow the distinction comes from Nashville, TN native, Marcus Armstrong a.k.a. St. Maarc. And in the way of a true disciple sent to chronicle the time of life with Christ, he is here to give an account of his version of what he has seen.
Since relocating to Indiana at an early age, his journey to get him to where he is one of great diversity, that symbolizes a true calling to the ministry. In 1995, he started a rap group called Ruff Draft. The unit was able to successfully record a three song demo, and like many others, began to shop it. Two years in the game got them a deal with a newly re-vamped SOLAR Music Group. It seemed that the Ruff Draft rap duo was well on their way to rewarding career in secular music. However, artistic differences led to an album unreleased, leaving completed masters on a dusty shelf. In the best interest of all involved, Ruff Draft left the label in 1999.
As God would have it, this is a move that would allow Marcus to rethink his direction and reshape his image, into a fearless follower of Christ…
Enter St. Maarc…
Now a six year veteran of the game, having seen both sides, he now has the experience necessary to catapult Gospel Rap into the next dimension. His thirteen track Vantage Point Records release, which is due out in October, will get heads open to the Word once again with its bouncy, lead-off party & praise cut, “We Do".
