StMichel and the Indigo Stars

St.Michel and the Indigo Stars are a brand new pop/rock/world band from Rotterdam who combine
catchy pop songs with eastern instruments
like the Persian santoor. Their music is reminiscent
of bands like Coldplay,U2 and Kula Shaker. They write songs with a message, and aren't afraid to deviate from the mainstream pop culture. They are all driven musicians who have the feel,heart and talent to survive in the music industry, and plan to do so.

The band was formed in 2010 at the Albeda College in Rotterdam where all the band members studied music and production.
The initiative came from singer-songwriter Michel Stooker and guitarist Richy George who started writing songs together. Two months later they bolstered the band with bassist Boyan Roest, drummer Vincent van Ewijk and Femke Alsemgeest on the keys and backing vocals.

They are currently working on their debut album wich will be released at the end of 2011 in order to kick of a Dutch tour in 2012.
The album will contain enchanting songs written by the band themselves. It feature eastern instruments, contagious melodies, atmospheric soundscapes, catchy guitar riffs and exciting drums. Sung from the heart to reach out to souls.
