Bio

Hailing from Snowshoe, WV, Stolen Element is a ska-punk band, pure and simple. Formed in 1999 by lifelong friends Shawn, Billy, Pat, and Andy, they quickly developed the knack for blowing the roofs off house parties and thrashing loud into the morning hours. From there it’s all history.

All the boys grew up together in rural West Virginia, I mean everyone. The band, the road crew, the groupies, everyone! Needless to say, the surroundings didn’t offer a lot of options. any spare time was spent snowboarding together at Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort. This is where they were first introduced to a wide variety of music, from punk rock to hip hop to reggae to classic rock to speed metal and on and on, all of which were melded into the distinctive mix that is Stolen Element’s sound.

After the guys all graduated high school, they moved to Morgantown, WV, home to the beloved Mountaineers! There they began to play relentlessly, 5-6 nights a week sometimes, building a real buzz in a college town of around 70,000 people. After recording a 9 song EP, manufacturing 2000 copies, they began to tour the south central east coast promoting the album, which was done with no label support. Their tour paths now include venues in WV, VA, OH, PA, NC, SC, and MD, sharing the stage with nationally touring acts such as King Django, 2 Skinnee Jays, Can’t Hang, Power Movement Project, 69 Fingers and many more.

After winning four Battles of the Bands in four different regions, Stolen Element used their prize studio time to record their debut CD and an additional 3 song demo. Using these records they used grassroots style marketing and touring to promote the name. They currently have street teams developing in many urban areas in their tour path. They also use an extensive web presence, including their own independently operated website, as well as profiles on MySpace.com, Interpunk.com, GarageBand.com, and many, many more.

With plans to record a live album, as well as a full length studio album, Stolen Element is still very eager for increased sales and more recognition. Once the studio projects are complete, they will hit the road once again to tour and promote the new albums vigorously.
