Stoley P.T.

Stoley P.T.

BandRockAlternative

A power trio sounding like a cross between pavement and the pixies trying to pretend they're pretty like Olivia Newton John. Hooks and noise and smarts. Live they are a sonic assault of kindness and fury that it's impossible to witness and not be changed by.

Biography

hello, please meet the stoley p.t.
stoley: lead singer and songwriter, plays the guitar and keyboards too, was born in the suburbs of chicago and had a really great time growing up there. he moved to new york a few years ago and while supporting himself doing funny bits on late night with conan o'brien he began playing his songs with lots of verve and enthusiasm out in small clubs around the city. accompanied by backing tracks he recorded by himself on a four track recorder in his apartment stoley began building a fan base of arty do it your selfers and self loathing pop/rock purveyers. he made two records on his own, one of which was produced by phil ek (built to spill, modest mouse), and continued wowing the new york scenesters with his one man roustabouts. many who witnessed these melodic freak 'em ups would shout things like “great songs!”, “you are high” and “you need some friends to play with!”.
luckily one of those people was none other than...
rob draghi: drummer. born in the big ct and a few years after that went to berklee college of music in boston and played the drums a lot. after moving to new york and seeing stoley rocking out solo he decided he could just fit right in there and take it all to another level and stoley said “okay” and there they were.
so they played out some more and one of the many eyes they caught was that of brooklyn born producer/musician mark turrigiano, who said “i want to record you guys” and the guys said “do you play bass?” and mark said “yes”.
so mark played bass with what then became known as stoley p.t. both on the record they started making and out live with the band. they finished the record and are all great friends to this day.
now with the album set for release on in music we trust records ( www.inmusicwetrust.com ), an extremely tight and energetic live show and a light blue 1984 ford club wagon stoley p.t. are set to take over the world. or at least your town for 45 minutes to an hour sometime soon.
